Amata Friendship Cup
The Amata Friendship Cup is a team golf tournament for male and female professional and amateur golfers contested by teams representing Thailand and Japan. It is the first mixed-gender team event for professional and amateur golfers with a similar format to the Ryder Cup (male event; the USA versus Europe) and Solheim Cup (female event; the USA versus Europe). The teams consist of five male professionals, five female professionals, one male amateur, and one female amateur. It was first played in 2018 at the Amata Spring Country Club which hosted the Honda LPGA Thailand on the LPGA Tour in 2006. The current holders are Thailand who won in 2018 at the Amata Spring Country Club in Chonburi, Thailand, by a score of 15 to 13. Chonburi Province
Chonburi (, , ) is a province of Thailand (''changwat'') located in eastern Thailand. Its capital is also named Chonburi. Japan–Thailand relations refer to bilateral relations between Japan and Thailand. A team is a group of individuals (human or non-human) working together to achieve their goal. Dynasty Cup (golf)
The Dynasty Cup was a men's professional team golf competition between teams representing Asia and Japan. It was played twice, in 2003 and 2005 and took place on the World Cup course at the Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen, China. The event was organised by the Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour. Asia won both events that were contested. For sponsorship reasons the 2003 event was called the Phoenix Dynasty Cup presented by VISA while the 2005 event was called the Visa Dynasty Cup. Format The teams consisted of 12 golfers. The tournament was played over three days with 6 foursomes matches on the first day, 6 four-ball golf, fourball matches on the second day and 12 match play, singles matches on the final day. Naomichi Ozaki
) is a Japanese professional golfer. Professional career Ozaki was born in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan. He turned professional in 1977 and won 32 tournaments on the Japan Golf Tour between 1984 and 2005. He ranks fourth on the list of most Japan Golf Tour wins. Virada Nirapathpongporn ( th, วิรดา นิราพาธพงศ์พร, born 21 April 1982) is a Thai former professional golfer who won the 2003 U.S. Women's Amateur. Nirapathpongporn was born in Bangkok, Thailand. Boonchu Ruangkit (born 12 May 1956) is a Thai professional golfer who plays on the Champions Tour. Early life As a young man, Boonchu tried for a career in kick boxing, but he gave it up after being knocked out cold in his third bout. He made his mark in golf when he won the 1985 Australian Amateur. Professional career Boonchu turned professional in 1986. He has won five titles on the Asian Tour since its first modern season in 1995, and has several other victories to his name. A professional golfer is somebody who receives payments or financial rewards in the sport of golf that are directly related to their skill or reputation. Four-ball Golf
Four-ball is a pairs playing format in the game of golf. It is also known as better ball and best ball, although the latter more properly describes a variation involving teams of 3 or 4 players. It is also sometimes abbreviated as 4BBB. In a stroke play competition, competitors are paired and play as a team. Each golfer plays their own ball; the team's score on each hole is the lower of the two players' scores. Only one of a pair is required to complete each hole. The winners are the team with the lowest aggregate score over a set number of holes. Since 2017 this format, along with foursomes, has been used by the Zurich Classic on the PGA Tour.
