Abbas Amanat
Abbas Amanat ( fa, عباس امانت) is an Iranian-born American historian, scholar, author, editor, and professor. He serves as the William Graham Sumner Professor of History at Yale University and Director of the Yale Program in Iranian Studies. Early life and education Amanat is a graduate of Alborz High School (Tehran, 1966). He received his B.A. degree from Tehran University in social sciences in 1971 and his D.Phil. from the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Oxford University in 1981. He studied with Albert Hourani and John Gurney as well as with Wilferd Madelung, Roger Owen, Hamid Enayat and Wilfred Knapp. The external examiner of his D.Phil. dissertation: "Emergence and Early Development of the Babi Movement, 1844–1850", successfully defended in Hilary 1981, was A.K.S. Agha Hasan Amanat
Agha Hasan Amanat ("آغا حسن "امانت, b. 1815, d. 1858) was an Urdu poet, writer and playwright of the nineteenth century from the Indian city of Lucknow. He was affiliated with the court of Wajid Ali Shah, the princely ruler of Awadh. His name was Agha Hasan Ali, while "''Amanat''" was his ''nom de plume'' (or ''takhallus''). He is also referred to as Amanat Lakhnavi (i.e. ''Amanat of Lucknow'') and Mirza Amanat. Personal history Agha Hasan Amanat was descended from a family of Iranian immigrants who moved to Lucknow in 1815. His father's name was Syed Ali Mashhadi, He was resident of Iran. Hossein Amanat
Hossein Amanat ( fa, حسین امانت, born 1942) is an Iranian-Canadian architect. He is best known for being the architect of the Shahyad Tower (renamed as Azadi Tower after the 1979 revolution) in Tehran, Iran, the Baháʼí Arc buildings in Haifa, Israel and the House of Worship in Samoa. He has also been designated as the architect of the future Shrine of ʻAbdu'l-Bahá. Practice As a young graduate from the University of Tehran he won a nationwide competition in 1966 to design the Shahyad Tower, renamed the Azadi Tower in 1979. Shafqat Amanat Ali
Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan ( ur, ; ; born 26 February 1965) is a Pakistani pop and classical singer, songwriter, and composer belonging to the Patiala Gharana tradition of music. He was the lead vocalist of the Pakistani pop rock band Fuzön until 2006 and is a prominent playback singer in the Indian film industry. The youngest son of noted classical vocalist Ustad Amanat Ali Khan, Ali started his musical training at the age of four under the tutelage of his uncle, Ustad Bade Fateh Ali Khan, who was widely regarded as the foremost exponent of Hindustani classical music in Pakistan.
