Altheim, Austria
Altheim is a town in western Austria. It is situated within the District of Braunau am Inn in the traditional region of Innviertel in the state of Upper Austria. It lies on the small river known as the Mühlheimer Ache, a tributary of the River Inn. Braunau Am Inn (district)
Bezirk Braunau am Inn is a Districts of Austria, district of the States of Austria, state of Upper Austria in Austria. History During the Bavarian uprising of 1705 and 1706 the country defense congress ("Braunau Parliament") was held in Braunau. In addition to leader Johann Georg Meindl, born in Weng, Christian Probst wrote of other leaders from the court of Braunau: old Hofbauer from Wuerlach, the rotbartete Schwaiger, Schienkhueber zu Mitterndorf, Neuhauser zu Hochburg, Meindlsberger in office at Eggelsberg, the innkeeper of Ibm and Baron of Taufkirchen, who was a civil servant there. Innviertel
The Innviertel (literally German for "Inn Quarter"; officially called the ''Innkreis''; ) is a traditional Austrian region southeast of the Inn river. It forms the western part of the state of Upper Austria and borders the German state of Bavaria. The Innviertel is one of the four traditional "quarters" of Upper Austria, the others being Hausruckviertel, Mühlviertel, and Traunviertel. The Innviertel is the northwestern quarter of Upper Austria and includes the districts Braunau am Inn, Ried im Innkreis and Schärding. Since the formation of the political districts in 1868, the quarters in Upper Austria no longer have a legal basis and are purely regional names. The older Habsburg districts (''Kreise''), which were still based on the old quarters, were superseded. Braunau Am Inn
Braunau am Inn (; German for "Braunau on the Inn") is a town in Upper Austria on the border with Germany. It is known for being the birthplace of Adolf Hitler.
