Altered States Of America
''Altered States of America'' is a 100-song 3" mini CD and the third studio album released by grindcore band Agoraphobic Nosebleed. The album's songs cover a variety of topics, with many referring to violence and drug use. Several songs consist solely of a vocal delivery of the title on top of noise, such as "The Tokyo Subway Gassing" and "The Star of David". The album is divided into movements, some of which are titled. "Wonder Drug Wonderland", which is credited as track 00, can be found on the CD by holding rewind at the start of track 1; it is the first song on the LP. The cover art was created by Jeff Gaither. In late 2008, ''Altered States of America'' was re-issued as a two disc set with the second disc, titled ''ANbRx II: Delta 9'', consisting of remixes from Chicago industrial/hardcore artist Delta 9. Grindcore
Grindcore is an extreme fusion genre of heavy metal and hardcore punk that originated in the mid-1980s, drawing inspiration from abrasive-sounding musical styles, such as thrashcore, crust punk, hardcore punk, extreme metal, and industrial. Grindcore is considered a more noise-filled style of hardcore punk while using hardcore's trademark characteristics such as heavily distorted, down-tuned guitars, grinding overdriven bass, high-speed tempo, blast beats, and vocals which consist of growls, shouts and high-pitched shrieks. Early groups like Napalm Death are credited with laying the groundwork for the style. It is most prevalent today in North America and Europe, with popular contributors such as Brutal Truth and Nasum. Lyrical themes range from a primary focus on social and political concerns, to gory subject matter and black humor. A trait of grindcore is the "microsong" much shorter than average for punk or metal; several bands have produced songs that are only seconds i ...

Relapse Records
Relapse Records is an American independent record label based in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. It was founded by Matthew F. Jacobson in 1990. The label features many grindcore, death metal, metalcore and sludge metal artists. History The label was started by Matthew F. Jacobson in August, 1990 in his parents' basement in Aurora, Colorado. The first two releases on the label were 7-inch singles by the bands Velcro Overdose and Face of Decline, closely followed by three death metal bands that would become among the biggest on the label, Deceased, Suffocation, and Incantation. After this, Jacobson became acquainted with William Yurkiewicz Jr., who became his partner in the record label. Yurkiewicz had founded his own record label, which was soon to release albums from the bands General Surgery, Disrupt, Destroy, Misery, and Yurkiewicz's own band Exit-13. Bestial Machinery (Discography Volume 1)
''Bestial Machinery (Discography Volume 1)'' is a double-CD anthology by the American grindcore band Agoraphobic Nosebleed. The album contains all of the material the group recorded prior to their Relapse Records full-length album ''Honky Reduction'', much of which was only released on vinyl 7-inch EPs or compilations. Although the total playing time of the album could fit on a single compact disc, a technical restriction—the fact that a maximum of 99 tracks could be programmed onto a single CD—forced Relapse to split the 136 songs between two CDs. The first disc contains all of Agoraphobic Nosebleed's EP and split releases, while the second contains the band's first demo and all of their compilation tracks, plus thirteen previously unreleased songs. The front cover was done by German artist Florian Bertmer. Track listing All songs written and composed by Agoraphobic Nosebleed except where indicated. Allmusic
AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. History AllMusic was launched as ''All Music Guide'' by Michael Erlewine, a "compulsive archivist, noted astrologer, Buddhist scholar and musician". He became interested in using computers for his astrological work in the mid-1970s and founded a software company, Matrix, in 1977. In the early 1990s, as CDs replaced LPs as the dominant format for recorded music, Erlewine purchased what he thought was a CD of early recordings by Little Richard. After buying it he discovered it was a "flaccid latter-day rehash". Frustrated with the labeling, he researched using metadata to create a music guide. In 1990, in Big Rapids, Michigan, he founded ''All Music Guide' ...

Pregap
The pregap on a Red Book audio CD is the portion of the audio track that precedes "index 01" for a given track in the table of contents (TOC). The pregap ("index 00") is typically two seconds long and usually, but not always, contains silence. Popular uses for having the pregap contain audio are live CDs, track interludes, and hidden songs in the pregap of the first track (detailed below). Unconventional uses of the pregap Computer data in pregap The track 01 pregap was used to hide computer data, allowing computers to detect a data track whereas conventional CD players would continue to see the CD as an audio CD. This method was made obsolete in mid 1996 when an update to Windows 95 in driver SCSI1HLP.VXD made the pregap track inaccessible. It is unclear whether this change in Microsoft Windows' behavior was intentional: for instance, it may have been intended to steer developers away from the pregap method and encourage what became the Blue Book specification "CD Extra" format ...
