Alt-Tegel is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the . It was constructed by B. Grimmek and opened as "Tegel" station in 1958. In 1992, the station was renamed to Alt-Tegel (''Old Tegel''). Nearby, indeed nearly 600 meters to walk, is the S-Bahn station Berlin-Tegel, and the rename perhaps occurred to avoid confusion. Wedding (german: der Wedding; ) is a locality in the borough of Mitte, Berlin, Germany and was a separate borough in the north-western inner city until it was fused with Tiergarten and Mitte in Berlin's 2001 administrative reform. Tegel () is a locality (''Ortsteil'') in the Berlin borough of Reinickendorf on the shore of Lake Tegel. The Tegel locality, the second largest in area (after Köpenick) of the 96 Berlin districts, also includes the neighbourhood of ''Saatwinkel''. History The Tegel Palace (or Humboldt Palace), originally a Renaissance manor house from 1558 and a hunting lodge of Elector Frederick William of Brandenburg, was bequeathed to the Humboldt family in 1797. Lake Tegel (german: Tegeler See) () is the second largest lake in Berlin, Germany. It is situated in the northwest of the city in the Reinickendorf borough, in the ''Ortsteil'' of Tegel. Berlin-Tegel Railway Station
Berlin Tegel is a railway station in Tegel, a locality of the Reinickendorf borough of Berlin. It is served by the S-Bahn line . Whilst the U6 is located a couple of streets away, it is not possible to reach Berlin Tegel Airport directly from this station. Location The station is located at km 10.9 of the Kremmener Bahn, at ground level and directly south of the ''Gorkistraße'' level crossing. It has two exits on both sides of the railway line. The main entrance is on ''Buddestraße'', near the junction with ''Grußdorffstraße''. There is also a bus stop on the station forecourt, which is served by lines 133 and N25 of Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG).
