Alpargatas S.A. is one of the largest Brazilian manufacturing company in the footwears and canvass business. Its main product is ''Havaianas'', one of the largest Brazilian brands of rubber flip-flops, since 1962. History It was founded in 1907, under the original name of ''Fábrica Brasileira de Alpargatas e Calçados'', by Robert Fraser (from Scotland and Argentina), in association with an English company. Fraser had also established Alpargatas factories in Argentina and Uruguay. It started production in the Mooca district of São Paulo (city). Already in 1909, the company - under the name ''São Paulo Alpargatas Company S.A.'' - found success in selling its products thanks to the use of sandals and canvas in coffee production. Club Athletico Albion, C. A. Albion or simply CA Albion was a Brazilian football club based in São Paulo. The club won one Campeonato Paulista First Division in 1933 and three Second Division titles, before being dissolved in 1936. History Founded in 1921 as "Associação Athletica São Paulo Alpargatas", the name of the company where most of the team's players worked ( São Paulo Alpargatas), and, in 1932, chose to change its name to "Club Athletico Albion", and acted as such until 1936, when the club abandoned the Campeonato Paulista during the dispute and was dissolved. The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (in Portuguese, ''Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica'', often referred to as Cade or CADE) is Brazil's national competition regulator and an agency of the government of Brazil. Its stated goals are "guiding, inspecting, preventing and investigating economic power abuse by exercising a custodial role in its prevention and repression". From its creation until 1991, it remained largely inactive being used as an instrument of the State. Carlos Wizard Martins
Carlos Wizard Martins (born 1956) is a Brazilian entrepreneur and founder of Grupo Multi, a company that offers franchises for English courses. Grupo Multi was bought out by Pearson in 2013. Biography He was born in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. When he was thirteen he and his parents joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was through interactions with missionaries of the church that he learned English. At age 18 Martins went to the United States where he worked in Newark, New Jersey for a time. Martins served a mission for the church in Portugal and later served as a bishop. In the early 1980s he went back to the United States with his wife and young family to study at Brigham Young University, where he received a degree in Computer Science and Statistics.
