Aloysius College, The Hague
Aloysius College, The Hague, was a secondary school in The Hague, in the Netherlands. The school was founded by the Jesuits in 1917 and expanded to include secondary school, grammar school, high school, and "gifted education." The last Jesuits left the school in the 1970s, and in 2016 the school was closed due to financial difficulties. History The school was named after the Jesuit St. Aloysius Gonzaga. It was opened in 1917 under the name R.K. H.B.S. behind the rectory of Saint Teresa of Avila Church and at that time only accommodated Catholic boys. In 1925 the building at Oostduinlaan was opened. In 1928, a boarding school in the Raamweg received the boarders of Huize Katwijk in Katwijk aan den Rijn. The original plan was to replace the school at Katwijk with a mega complex between Oostduinlaan and Raamweg, with construction beginning in 1914, but only the basement was completed when funds ran out. Amersfoort
Amersfoort () is a city and municipality in the province of Utrecht, Netherlands, about 20 km from the city of Utrecht and 40 km south east of Amsterdam. As of 1 December 2021, the municipality had a population of 158,531, making it the second-largest of the province and fifteenth-largest of the country. Christian Democratic Appeal
The Christian Democratic Appeal ( nl, Christen-Democratisch Appèl, ; CDA) is a Christian-democratic political party in the Netherlands. It was originally formed in 1977 from a confederation of the Catholic People's Party, the Anti-Revolutionary Party and the Christian Historical Union; it has participated in all but three cabinets since it became a unitary party. Health Minister Hugo de Jonge served as Leader of the Christian Democratic Appeal from July 2020 until his resignation the following December. Finance Minister Wopke Hoekstra was then chosen as ''lijstrekker'' for the 2021 general election, becoming the ''de facto'' party leader. Catharina Elisabeth Godefrida "Karien" van Gennip (born 3 October 1968) is a Dutch businesswoman and politician who has served as Minister of Social Affairs and Employment in the Fourth Rutte cabinet since 10 January 2022. She is a member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA). A native of Leidschendam, Karien van Gennip worked at McKinsey & Company and the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets until she entered politics when appointed State Secretary for Economic Affairs in 2003 under Jan Peter Balkenende's second cabinet, a position she retained under his third cabinet until 2007. Hendrik Johannes Cruijff (, internationally known as Johan Cruyff; 25 April 1947 – 24 March 2016) was a Dutch professional football player and manager.
