Allister Ian Ferguson
Allister is an American pop punk band from Chicago, Illinois. The four-piece formed in 1994 when the original band members were still in high school, and was originally named Phineas Gage. In 1998 Allister became one of the first bands to sign to Drive-Thru Records. They went on hiatus in 2007, then reunited in 2010, and have been touring and recording again since. They have released six studio albums: ''Dead Ends and Girlfriends'' (1999), ''Last Stop Suburbia'' (2002), ''Before the Blackout'' (2005), ''Countdown to Nowhere'' (2010), ''Life Behind Machines'' (2012), and ''20 Years and Counting'' (2019). The band also made a cameo appearance in the 2004 film ''Sleepover''. Scott Murphy (musician)
Scott Murphy (born February 11, 1979) is an American musician and singer-songwriter. He is best known for his work as bassist, vocalist, and songwriter in the pop punk band Allister, as well as his solo work released through Universal Music, and his collaboration with Weezer frontman and vocalist Rivers Cuomo through the name Scott & Rivers. Scott is also currently bassist/ vocalist for the Japanese band MONOEYES. Career Allister Scott Murphy began playing with pop punk band Allister on bass and vocals in 1998. Before The Blackout
''Before the Blackout'' is Allister's third studio album. Release On July 14, 2005, ''Before the Blackout'' was announced for release in three months' time; that same day, "Study in Economics" was made available for streaming. It was released on October 11, 2005 on Drive-Thru Records. Between October and December 2005, they supported Fenix TX on their farewell US tour. They closed the year playing four holiday shows with Catch 22. From late January until early March 2006, the band supported Mest on their tour of the US. In March and April 2007, Allister went on a tour of Japan, before breaking up. They played a final show in Chicago, Illinois. Mest is an American rock band originally formed by lead vocalist and guitarist Tony Lovato, bassist Matt Lovato, drummer Nick Gigler, and guitarist Jeremiah Rangel. They broke up in 2006 after eleven years, but temporarily reformed in California in 2008 for a "final tour." Later, it was announced that the classic lineup of Mest, with Tony Lovato, Matt Lovato, Nick Gigler, Sacha Jean and Jeremiah Rangel, would be getting back together. Home Grown was a North American ska punk/pop punk band formed in 1994 in Orange County, California. They released three full-length albums and several EPs before disbanding in 2005. Their music is often characterized as pop punk, lyrically favoring humor and silly or satirical subjects. Band history Formation Home Grown was formed in Orange County in 1994. South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. Fenix TX
Fenix TX (styled as Fenix*TX) is an American pop punk band. The band originally formed as Riverfenix in 1995 in Houston, Texas. They released an Extended play, EP, ''G.B.O.H.'', and an album, ''Riverfenix (album), Riverfenix'', on independent record labels, before having to change their name due to a cease and desist order from the estate of actor River Phoenix. Following the change of name, they signed with major label MCA Records in 1999. On MCA, they released two further albums, 1999's ''Fenix TX (album), Fenix TX'' and 2001's ''Lechuza (album), Lechuza'', which collectively sold over 600,000 units. The band broke up in 2002 over creative differences.
