Alliance (album)
''Alliance'' is the 39th full-length studio album by heavy metal, power metal band Thor, released through Deadline Music in 2020. It features several guest performers, such as John Gallagher (Raven), Björn Strid (Soilwork), Chris Holmes (Chris Holmes/Mean Men, Ex- W.A.S.P.), Ross "the Boss "Friedman (Ross the Boss Band, Ex-Manowar), Nina Osegueda (A Sound of Thunder), Fang VonWrathenstein ( Lords of the Trident), Dan Cleary (Striker), Neil Turbin (Anthrax), and Danko Jones. The album's first single, "The Ultimate Alliance", was released on June 9, 2021. The song features guitar solos from Chris Holmes, Ross the Boss, and John Leibel, as well as additional vocals by Nina Osegueda (A Sound of Thunder) and Fang VonWrathenstein ( Lords of the Trident). A music video directed by Josh Grambo was also made to accompany the song. Reception The album has received positive reviews from critics. Thor (stylized as THOR) is a Canadian heavy metal band from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Biography Thor started out as a concept band in 1973. They used the names "Thor", "Centaur" and "Mikl Body Rock". These entities were the brainchild of Jon Mikl Thor, a vocalist, musician and body building champion who won titles such as Mr. USA and Mr. World Canada. He decided to combine muscle with music. In every show Jon Mikl Thor would appear as "Thor The Rock Warrior". Mikl Body Rock aka "Thor" toured throughout North America seeking fame and to garner enough attention to secure a record deal. Nina Osegueda
Nina Osegueda (born Balvina Osegueda) is a female heavy metal vocalist from Washington, D.C.. is of Catalán and Salvadoran descent. She is the lead vocalist of A Sound of Thunder. In 2012, A Sound of Thunder released an album under Nightmare Records called ''Out of the Darkness''. The album features Raven's John Gallagher on its signature song, "Out of the Darkness". In 2013, A Sound of Thunder released ''Time's Arrow'' (with guest vocalist Blaze Bayley of Iron Maiden/Wolfsbane) under Mad Neptune Records. The album was funded by a successful KickStarter campaign. In 2013, A Sound of Thunder created another KickStarter campaign for the purpose of recording a new album in 2014. The campaign, whose goal began at $10,000, made over $20k in 30 days. Prism (band)
Prism (styled as PRiSM) is a Canadian rock band formed in Vancouver in 1977. They were originally active from 1977 to 1984 and have been active again from 1987 to present. Their classic line-up consisted of lead singer Ron Tabak, guitarist Lindsay Mitchell, keyboardist John Hall, bassist Allen Harlow and drummer Rocket Norton. The band's sound is a mix of album-oriented rock ( AOR) and pop rock and they have released a total of eight studio albums, three compilation albums and one live album. Warrior Soul is an American rock band, formed by lead singer and producer Kory Clarke. Clarke started the band on a bet from a promoter at New York City's Pyramid Club, after a solo performance art show called "Kory Clarke/Warrior Soul". Clarke was determined he would have the best band in the city within six months. Nine months later he signed a multi-album deal with Geffen Records. Danko Jones, is a Canadian rock singer, guitarist and composer. He is the main singer and guitarist of his self-titled rock trio, which was formed in 1996. Anthrax is an American heavy metal band from New York City, formed in 1981 by rhythm guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Dan Lilker. The group is considered one of the leaders of the thrash metal scene from the 1980s and is part of the "Big Four" of the genre, along with Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer. Manowar is an American heavy metal band from Auburn, New York. Formed in 1980, the group is known for lyrics based on fantasy (particularly sword and sorcery) and mythology (particularly Norse mythology and Greco-Roman mythology), as well as numerous songs celebrating the genre and its core audience. The band is also known for a loud and emphatic sound.
