Allen Sulatycky
Allen B. Sulatycky, (born June 13, 1938), is a Canadian judge and former politician. Biography He was born at Hafford, Saskatchewan, and educated at Hafford and the University of Saskatchewan (B.A., LL.B 1962). Sulatycky was called to the Alberta bar in 1963. He practiced law in Edmonton and Whitecourt, Alberta from 1963 to 1969. He was an unsuccessful Liberal candidate in the November 6, 1967, by-election in Jasper—Edson. He was elected to the House of Commons for Rocky Mountain defeating Douglas Marmaduke Caston in the 1968 federal election as a Liberal candidate. Sulatycky was parliamentary secretary to John James Greene, Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources, 1971, then Parliamentary Secretary to Jean Chrétien, Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, 1972. Rocky Mountain (electoral District)
Rocky Mountain was a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1968 to 1979. This riding was created in 1966 from parts of Bow River, Jasper—Edson, Lethbridge and Macleod ridings. It was abolished in 1976 when it was redistributed into Bow River, Calgary South, Lethbridge, Peace River, Red Deer and Yellowhead ridings. Joseph Jacques Jean Chrétien (; born January 11, 1934) is a Canadian lawyer and politician who served as the 20th prime minister of Canada from 1993 to 2003. Born and raised in Shawinigan Falls, Quebec, Chrétien is a law graduate from Université Laval. A Liberal, he was first elected to the House of Commons in 1963. He served in various cabinet posts under Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, most prominently as minister of Indian affairs and northern development, president of the Treasury Board, minister of finance, and minister of justice.
