Allama Binori Town
Allama Banuri Town is a residential and commercial area in Karachi, originally named "New Town". It was renamed Allama Banuri town in honour of the hadith scholar Muhammad Yousuf Banuri. Darul Uloom Deoband
The Darul Uloom Deoband is an Islamic seminary (darul uloom) in India at which the Sunni Deobandi Islamic movement began. It is located in Deoband, a town in Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. The seminary was established by Muhammad Qasim Nanautavi, Fazlur Rahman Usmani, Sayyid Muhammad Abid and others in 1866. Mahmud Deobandi was the first teacher and Mahmud Hasan Deobandi was the first student. On 14 October 2020, the executive council of the seminary appointed Arshad Madani as the principal (''sadr-mudarris'') and Abul Qasim Nomani as the senior hadith professor (''shaykh al-hadith''). Muhammad Yousuf Banuri
Muhammad Yousuf Banuri (7 May 1908 – 17 October 1977) was a Pakistani Islamic scholar, founder of Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia and former President and Vice President of Wifaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia, Pakistan from 30 May 1973 to 17 October 1977. Education and career Yousuf Banuri received primary education from his father and maternal uncle. Then he went to Darul Uloom Deoband, India, for higher Islamic education. From Jamiah Islamiah Talimuddin Dabhel he completed his "Dora-e-Hadith" under Anwar Shah Kashmiri and Shabbir Ahmad Usmani. He served as "Sheikh-ul-Hadith" at Jamiah Islamiah Talimuddin Dabhel and as "Sheikh-ut-Tafseer" at Darul Uloom Tando Allahyar, Sindh. He founded Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia in 1954. Jamia Uloom Ul Islamia
Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia ( ur, , ''Jāmi‘ah ‘Ulūm-i Islāmīyah'' / , ''Jāmi‘atul-‘Ulūmul-Islāmīyah'') is an Islamic University in Binori Town, Banoori Town, Karachi, Pakistan. The university continues the tradition of the Darul Uloom system initiated by Darul Uloom Deoband. , there are about twelve thousand students in different departments of the Jamiah and its branches, including a number of foreign students from over sixty countries. Controversies Assassinations of preachers On 2 November 1997, two scholars at Jamiat-ul-Uloom-ul-Islamia, Habibullah Mukhtar (Rector (academia), Rector) and Abdus Sami, were burnt to death when two motorcyclists hurled an explosive device at their van. Another Rector, Yousuf Ludhianvi, was shot dead by gunmen in Karachi on 18 May 2000.
