All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 1914
The 1914 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 28th staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 10 May 1914 and ended on 18 October 1914. Kilkenny entered the championship as defending champions, however, they were beaten by Laois in the Leinster final. Clare won the title following a 5-1 to 1-0 defeat of Laois in the final. Amby Power
Ambrose 'Amby' Power (17 February 1884 – 26 February 1960) was an Irish hurler who played as a centre-back for the Clare senior team. Power made his first appearance for the team around 1908 and became a regular player over the next decade. During that time he won one All-Ireland winner's medal and one Leinster winner's medal. In 1914 Power became the first Clareman to captain his county to the All-Ireland title. 1891 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship
The 1891 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the fifth staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 20 September 1891 and ended on 28 February 1892. Cork were the defending champions, however, they were defeated in the provincial series. Kerry won the All-Ireland following a 2-3 to 1-5 defeat of Wexford in the final. Teams A total of seven teams contested the championship.
