Tom Semple
Thomas Semple (8 April 1879 – 11 April 1943) was an Irish people, Irish hurling, hurler who played as a half-forward for the Tipperary GAA, Tipperary senior team. Semple joined the panel during the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 1897, 1897 championship and eventually became a regular member of the starting seventeen until his retirement after the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 1909, 1909 championship. During that time he won three All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, All-Ireland medals and four Munster Senior Hurling Championship, Munster medals. An All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion, Semple captained the team to the All-Ireland title in 1906 and in 1908. Tuam ( ; ga, Tuaim , meaning 'mound' or 'burial-place') is a town in Ireland and the second-largest settlement in County Galway. It is west of the midlands of Ireland, about north of Galway city. Croke Park ( ga, Páirc an Chrócaigh, ) is a Gaelic games stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Named after Archbishop Thomas Croke, it is referred to as Croker by GAA fans and locals. It serves as both the principal national stadium of Ireland and headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Markets Field is a stadium in Garryowen, Limerick, Ireland. It has been redeveloped since 5 June 2015 when it hosted a soccer match between Limerick F.C., Limerick FC and Drogheda United F.C., Drogheda United in the League of Ireland Premier Division. The Ulster GAA Hurling Senior Championship, known simply as the Ulster Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Ulster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition in the province of Ulster, and has been contested every year since the 1901 championship. The final, usually held in July, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during June, and the results determine which team receives the Liam Harvey Cup. The championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship. In 2016, a two-tier format began. Rail transport (also known as train transport) is a means of transport that transfers passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are incorporated in tracks.
