According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 26,819 people. Geography According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the municipality has a land area of constituting of the total area of Batangas. It is bordered on the north by Taal Lake, east by Cuenca and San Jose, west by Santa Teresita and San Luis, and south by Bauan and San Pascual. Barangays Alitagtag is politically subdivided into 19 barangays. In 1957, the following ''barrio''s were created: Pingas, composed of ''Sitios'' Pingas and Corral; Tadlak, composed of sitios Tadlak and Malukan; and Sambi composed of the sitio of Sambi. Taal Lake
Taal Lake ( tl, Lawa ng Taal, ), formerly known as Bombón Lake, is a freshwater caldera lake in the province of Batangas, on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. The lake fills Taal Volcano, a large volcanic caldera formed by very large eruptions between 500,000 and 100,000 years ago. It is the country's third-largest lake, after Laguna de Bay and Lake Lanao. Volcano Island, the location of Taal Volcano's historical eruptions and responsible for the lake's sulfuric content, lies near the center of the lake. San Jose, officially the Municipality of San Jose ( tgl, Bayan ng San Jose), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Batangas, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 79,868 people. The municipality is bounded in the north and north-east by Lipa, east by Ibaan, south by Batangas City and San Pascual, and west by Cuenca and Alitagtag. Santa Teresita, officially the Municipality of Santa Teresita ( tgl, Bayan ng Santa Teresita), is a 5th class municipality in the province of Batangas, Philippines.
