Alice Capsey
Alice Rose Capsey (born 11 August 2004) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Surrey, South East Stars, Oval Invincibles, Delhi Capitals and Melbourne Stars. An all-rounder, she is a right-handed batter and right-arm off break bowler. In 2021, Capsey was voted the inaugural PCA Women's Young Player of the Year. Capsey made her international debut for the England women's cricket team in July 2022. Early life Capsey was born on 11 August 2004 in Redhill, Surrey. She began playing cricket aged six, at Capel Cricket Club in Dorking. She is currently studying for her A-Levels. Domestic career Capsey made her county debut in 2019, in a County Championship match for Surrey against Hampshire, and took 3/65 with the ball. She played also five Twenty20 Cup matches in 2019, and took 7 wickets at an average of 13.14. Melbourne Stars (WBBL)
The Melbourne Stars (WBBL) are an Australian women's Twenty20 cricket team based in St Kilda, Victoria. They are one of two teams from Melbourne to compete in the Women's Big Bash League, the other being the Melbourne Renegades. To date, the Stars' best performance occurred in WBBL06 when they ended the regular season as minor premiers before ultimately finishing as runners-up. History Formation One of eight founding WBBL teams, the Melbourne Stars are aligned with the men's team of the same name. At the official WBBL launch on 10 July 2015, Meg Lanning was unveiled as the Stars' first-ever player signing. Bowling, in cricket, is the action of propelling the ball toward the wicket defended by a batter. The 2021 season of The Hundred was the inaugural season of The Hundred, a professional franchise 100-ball cricket tournament involving eight men's and women's teams located in major cities across England and Wales. Sunrisers are a women's cricket team that represent the London and East region, one of eight regional hubs in English domestic women's cricket. They play their home matches at various grounds, including the County Cricket Ground, Chelmsford. They are captained by Kelly Castle and coached by Andy Tennant. The 2020 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy was the first edition of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, an English women's cricket domestic competition, which took place between 29 August and 27 September 2020. It featured eight teams in two groups, and had a final. The tournament was named after former England captain Rachael Heyhoe Flint, Baroness Heyhoe-Flint, who died in 2017. The competition was won by Southern Vipers, who beat Northern Diamonds in the final. The 2022 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2022 Vitality Women's County T20, was the 13th edition of the Women's Twenty20 Cup, an English women's cricket Twenty20 domestic competition. It took place in April and May 2022, with 35 teams taking part, organised into eight regional groups. The Hampshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Hampshire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Totton and Eling CC and the Ageas Bowl Nursery Ground. They are captained by Emily Windsor.
