Ali Mustafayev
Aly Mustafayev Mustafa oglu ( az, Alı Mustafayev Mustafa oğlu) (April 14, 1952 – November 20, 1991) was an Azerbaijani journalist and reporter during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Early years Mustafayev was born on April 14, 1952, in Qazakhbeyli village of Qazakh raion of Azerbaijan SSR. In 1969, he completed his secondary education at Dash Salakhly village secondary school. From 1971 through 1973, Mustafayev served in the Soviet Armed Forces. In 1976, he entered Baku State University and graduated in 1981 with a degree in journalism. After the graduation, he started working for ''News'' program of the Azerbaijani State Television and Radio company. When the Nagorno-Karabakh war started, Mustafayev was assigned to report from the frontlines. Death Mustafayev was killed along with 22 passengers and crew members in a helicopter which was shot down by Armenian forces near the Qarakend village of Khojavend district in Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan. Qazax (; ) is a city in and the capital of the Gazakh District of Azerbaijan. It has a population of 20,900. Gazakh is a city and administrative district in the west of Azerbaijan, the "western gate" of Azerbaijan. History Early history In the 17–18th century, Gazakh was the capital of the Kazakh Sultanate. The National Hero of Azerbaijan ( az, Azərbaycan milli qəhrəmanı) is the highest national title in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The title was named on 25 March 1992, and the "Qizil Ulduz" Medal awarded as a sign of receiving this title was established by a separate law in 15 July 1992. The law on the title has been in effect since 25 December 1995. It can only be awarded once to the same person. Osman Mirzayev ( az, Osman Mirzəyev Mirzahuseyn oğlu; April 13, 1937 – November 20, 1991) was a journalist, writer and publicist in Soviet Azerbaijan, then part of the USSR. The journalist is the father of Sevinj Osmanqizi. Osman Mirzayev is widely regarded as one of the great pioneers of independent journalism in Azerbaijan. He came to prominence as presenter of Dalga (Wave), Azerbaijan's first political TV programme, and through his investigative articles about political repression and persecution in the Soviet Azerbaijan and books We Only Live Once, Eagle in Flight, Drop and Lake and many other writings. Chingiz Mustafayev (journalist)
Chingiz Mustafayev ( az, Çingiz Fuad oğlu Mustafayev; August 29, 1960 – June 15, 1992) was an independent Azerbaijani journalist, posthumously bestowed the state order National Hero of Azerbaijan. Mustafayev, with the medical degree and no formal background in journalism save for a year of on the job training, created a video record of the early stages of the First Nagorno-Karabakh War, most of the documentary had to be shot from the frontline which ultimately was the cause of his abrupt death due to mortar wounds.
