Ali Mezher (born 22 March 1994 in Beirut) is a professional Lebanese professional basketball who plays for Beirut Club (basketball) in the Lebanese Basketball League. In the 2016–2017 season, Ali played for Hoops Club and averaged 17.9 ppg, 8.1 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.6 steals, then signed a contract with Sagesse Club for the 2017–2018 season. The squad is governed by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) continentally, and FIFA worldwide. Beirut Club () is a basketball team based in Beirut, Lebanon, who plays in the Lebanese Basketball League (LBL), the top-flight of basketball in Lebanon. Home games of the club are played in the Stade Nouhad Naufal. The club was first promoted to the Lebanese Basketball League in 2017, and has played there ever since. Lebanese Basketball League
The Lebanese Basketball League is the top-tier professional men's basketball league in Lebanon. It is organized annually as a national championship with playoffs and a national cup by the Lebanese Basketball Federation (FLB). Currently, the league consists of 12 teams, of which six are located in Beirut. The most successful club in the history of the league is Al Riyadi who have won a record 16 championships. History The initial Lebanese basketball league was formed in as early as the 1950s; however, it was stopped during the Lebanese Civil War. In 1992, the league was reformed into a fully professional format. 2022 FIBA Asia Cup
The 2022 FIBA Asia Cup (formerly known as the FIBA Asia Championship) will be the 30th continental basketball championship in Asia. The tournament is organised by FIBA Asia. Originally intended to be the 2021 edition, the tournament was initially scheduled to take place between 3 and 15 August 2021, but it was postponed due to 17 to 29 August 2021 to avoid scheduling conflict with the 2020 Summer Olympics which was postponed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was later postponed again to 12 to 24 July 2022. Indonesia will be the tournament host for second time after staging the 1993 edition. Australia is the defending champion.
