Alfredas Vainauskas
Alfredas Vainauskas, born 16 January 1961 in Vilnius, Lithuanian SSR), is a Lithuanian basketball coach, currently coaching Utena women's basketball team. Playing career In 1978, Vainauskas started his career with BC Statyba. With this team, he won a bronze medal in the USSR League in 1979. In 1989, Vainauskas, along with his teammate Šarūnas Marčiulionis, left the team and played abroad, in Slovakia ("BC Prievidza") for two seasons, in Hungary (" BC Debreceni") for one season and in Czech Republic ("BC Kunin") for two seasons. In 1994, he returned to Statyba, and, after the season, concluded his basketball playing career. Coaching career In 1995, Vainauskas became the assistant coach of Statyba. After the team dissolved in 1997, he continued coaching their successors, BC Lietuvos rytas until 2002. LKF Cup
The LKF Cup was an annual national domestic cup competition for Lithuanian professional basketball teams. It was organised by the Lithuanian Basketball Federation (Lietuvos Krepšinio Federacija - LKF). The competition's full name was Lietuvos Krepšinio Federacija Taurė (English: Lithuanian Basketball Federation Cup). Before 2007, the LKF Cup wasn't held regularly, but after that, its finals were organised every January, February, or March. Between 2007 and 2014, the competition was played between teams from the LKL, the NKL, and the RKL. In 2015, the LKF decided to change the competition format, and it was then played between the top eight qualified teams of the LKL, after the first half of the season. Jonas Kazlauskas
Jonas Kazlauskas (born 21 November 1954) is a Lithuanian professional basketball coach and former player. He was most recently the head coach of the Guangdong Southern Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Playing career Kazlauskas played for Statyba Vilnius from 1973 to 1985. He won a bronze medal in the former USSR Supreme League in 1979. Coaching career Clubs Kazlauskas is considered to be one of the best coaches from Europe. In the past, he has coached Lithuania's top two pro club basketball teams, Žalgiris Kaunas (1994–2000) and Lietuvos rytas Vilnius (2001–2004). In October 2004, he became the head coach of Olympiacos Piraeus, and later moved to CSKA Moscow during the 2010–11 season. The North European Basketball League, or Northern European Basketball League (NEBL), was a short-lived regional professional basketball league. It was founded in 1998, by Šarūnas Marčiulionis and Dmitry Buriak.
