Alfred Oko Vanderpuije (born 4 November 1955) Newghana.org Alfred Vanderpuije Ed.S. is a Ghanaian educationist and politician who currently serves as a member of parliament. He is currently the member of parliament for Ablekuma South Constituency in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. His Dutch surname reflects his Euro-African descent. The ancestors of Vanderpuije originally came from Sint-Maartensdijk on the former island of Tholen in the Netherlands. His ancestor, Jacobus van der Puije was Governor of the Dutch Gold Coast in 1780. Ablekuma South (Ghana Parliament Constituency)
Ablekuma South is one of the constituencies represented in the Parliament of Ghana. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. Ablekuma South is located in the Accra Metropolitan Area of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. It is one of the six sub metropolitan district councils of Accra Metropolitan Assembly. History Accra has been Ghana's capital when it was transferred from Cape Coast since the year 1877. Currently, it was one of the growing and populated Metropolis in Africa with annual growth rate of 3.1%. Firstly, it was attempted to set up a Town Council back in 1859 under an Ordinance, which was nullified in the January 1861. Dansoman is a suburban town in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, located near Accra and Takoradi district of the Accra Metropolitan Area. The town is known for being one of the largest estates in West Africa. History The town was founded by the late Nii Kojo Danso I in the late 1960s. Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital
Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) is a public teaching hospital located in the Ablekuma South Metropolitan District in Accra, Ghana. It is the only public tertiary hospital in the southern part of the country. It is a teaching hospital affiliated with the medical school of the University of Ghana. Three centres of excellence, the National Cardiothoracic Centre, the National Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Radiotherapy Centres are all part of it. John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills (21 July 1944 – 24 July 2012) was a Ghanaian politician and legal scholar who served as President of Ghana from 2009 until his death in 2012.
