Alfred Fischer (architect)
Alfred Fischer (29 August 1881 – 10 April 1950) was a German architect. Born in Stuttgart, Alfred Fischer studied from 1900 to 1904 at the Stuttgart Technical University of Architecture under Professor Theodor Fischer (no relation). In 1904 he deferred the 1st State examination and from 1905/1906 worked in Berlin as an assistant for the urban design consultant Ludwig Hoffmann and from 1906 to 1908 with Paul Schultze-Naumburg. In 1909 he became a teacher at the College of Arts and Crafts at the Kunstgewerbeschule Düsseldorf under Wilhelm Kreis. From 1911 to 1933 he led the Essen Arts and Crafts School (later called the Folkwangschule). In 1921 he was awarded a professorship. In 1929 he was awarded an Engineering doctorate from the Hannover Technical University. Herne () is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located in the Ruhr area directly between the cities of Bochum and Gelsenkirchen. Hürth
Hürth is a town in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Hürth shares borders with the city of Cologne and is about 6 km to the southwest of Cologne city centre, at the northeastern slope of the natural preserve Kottenforst-Ville. The town consists of thirteen districts, once independent villages, and is distributed over a relatively large area. The municipal area is interspersed with lakes and stretches of forest. Kraftwerk Goldenberg
Kraftwerk (, "power station") is a German band formed in Düsseldorf in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider. Bernhard Goldenberg
Bernhard Goldenberg (20 March 1872 in Dahlerau – 30 May 1917 in Essen) was a German engineer. Life Goldenberg was the son of Friedrich Goldenberg, the head of the dye works at the Wülfing works and son. Later he also did a practical training in mechanical engineering at the Wülfing works. After his mandatory military service, Goldenberg studied mechanical and electrical engineering at the technical universities in Hannover, Stuttgart and Berlin before becoming a technical advisor to Hugo Stinnes in 1899. In 1903, after a study trip that had primarily taken him to the General Electric and Edison Electric Light Corporation plants in the US, he became Technical Director of Rheinisch-Westfälisches Elektrizitätswerk AG, and in this capacity was responsible for the technical implementation of the rapid expansion of electrification in the Rhineland and Ruhr area.
