Aleš Šteger (born 31 May 1973) is a Slovene poet, writer, editor and literary critic. Aleš belongs to a generation of writers that started to publish right after the fall of Yugoslavia. His first poetry collection Šahovnice ur (1995) was sold out in three weeks after publication and indicated a new generation of Slovenian artists and writers. Career Štegers books have been translated into 16 languages and his poems appeared in internationally renowned magazines and newspapers as The New Yorker, Die Zeit, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, TLS and many others. Among other prizes and honours his English translation of Knjiga reči (The Book of Things, BOA Editions, 2010) won two mayor U.S. translation awards (BTBA award and AATSEL). Aleš Čeh
Aleš Čeh (born 7 April 1968) is a former Slovenian footballer who played as a midfielder. He represented Slovenia at Euro 2000 and the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Club career Čeh played for the youth team of Slovan, and later also for their city rivals Olimpija. In 1992, he transferred to the Austrian second division side Grazer AK. With his steady midfield-play, he helped the team back to the top flight in 1995. After winning the Austrian Cup and the Austrian Supercup in 2000 and 2002, he left GAK in summer 2003 and signed for Maribor until winter 2004, when he went back to Austria, this time to LASK Linz. After that he moved back to Olimpija Ljubljana. He retired from football after the 2008–09 season and worked at the club initially as a youth coach and later as assistant manager to Dušan Kosič. Aleš Klégr (born 27 November 1951) is a Czech linguist, professor of English language at Charles University in Prague. He specializes, among others, in lexicology, lexicography, semantics and morphology. As a student of English (along with psychology) at Charles University in Prague, he was a pupil of Prague school linguists Bohumil Trnka and Ivan Poldauf. Aleš Chvalovský (born 29 May 1979) is a Czech former professional football goalkeeper who played more than 150 matches in the Czech First League. Career Aleš Chvalovský played in his youth for Chmel Blšany, Dukla Prague, SK Rakovník, Slavia Prague, Liverpool F.C., Marine F.C. and again for Chmel Blšany. He made his Czech First League debut in the 1998–99 season for Chmel Blšany. After the 1999–2000 season, he was signed by German side VfB Stuttgart but played only for the B team. Aleš Kokot (born 23 October 1979) is a Slovenian football player, who plays for Kecskeméti TE. Club career Born in Šempeter pri Gorici in western Slovenia, Kokot spent his childhood in the nearby town of Nova Gorica. He started his career at his home club Gorica. There he played eight seasons, winning Prva liga and Slovenian Cup two times before moving to German side SpVgg Greuther Fürth in 2005. Two years later he joined SV Wehen.
