''Alexia'' is the fifth studio album by Italian singer Alexia released in 2002. The album was the first release in Italian. It gave boost to her career. The album was released in Italy on CD and cassette on 8 March 2002. It was certified gold by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry for domestic sales exceeding 50,000 units. The album contains one English recording, an English version of "Dimmi come…" entitled "Don't You Know" though this would be re-recorded in English again for an international release. Two of the tracks, "Se un giorno" and "L'amore vince" are Italian renditions of the songs "Whenever You Want Me" and "The Real Thing" from her previous album '' Mad for Music''. "Non lasciarmi mai" was released as a single on 24 June 2002 with "Hasta la vista baby" being released as a radio promo third single after the International release of the album. Alexia (born Alessia Aquilani, 19 May 1967) is an Italian singer. Before recording in Italian in the 2000s, she made records in English in the 1990s. Many of those were international hits. Before her solo career, she was the vocalist of Ice MC. In her career, she has sold over 6 million records with ten top 10 singles, four of which were number-ones with numerous international sales certifications. She has performed at the Festivalbar nine times, and four times at the Sanremo Music Festival in which she has earned, besides several music critic awards, three second-placings, and one first-placing in 2003. ''Il cuore a modo mio'' (translated as 'The Proper Heart of Mine') is the sixth studio album by Alexia released in Italy on 7 March 2003 (Sony Code 511054). "Non lasciarmi mai" is the second single release from the fifth studio album of Italian singer Alexia. The song is about Alexia being pleased to have her lover and the direction her life is going, comparing him as the sun in her life and her fear of being left alone. The title translates as 'Not to leave me ever'. The track contains lyrics in both English and Italian. An English version featured on the international release of the album Alexia entitled "Don't Leave Me This Way". The theme of the song differs slightly in that although Alexia likes some of what her lover does, yet he doesn't completely leave her satisfied and that she doesn't want to be left in her current way of being moderately satisfied. The Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana (FIMI) is an umbrella organization that keeps track of virtually all aspects of the music recording industry in Italy.
