FC Kärnten was an Austrian association football club based in Klagenfurt, Carinthia. It was founded in 1920 under the name of KSK Klagenfurt. SK Austria Klagenfurt is an Austrian football club, based in the Carinthian capital Klagenfurt, currently playing in the Austrian Bundesliga. History The emergence of the club marked the end of all efforts to establish an all-Carinthian team to play in the Austrian Football Bundesliga, pushed by the state's government under Jörg Haider.
