Alexander Julius Fabergé (Russian: Александр Карлович Фаберже; Saint Petersburg, December 17, 1878 – 1952, Paris, France) was the son of Carl Fabergé of the House of Fabergé and his wife Augusta Julia Fabergé. He had four brothers, Eugen Fabergé, Agathon Carl Theodor Fabergé, Nikolai Agathon Fabergé, and Nikolai Leopold Fabergé. The House of Fabergé (; Russian: Дом Фаберже) was a jewellery firm founded in 1842 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, by Gustav Faberge, using the accented name ''Fabergé''. Gustav's sons – Peter Carl and Agathon – and grandsons followed him in running the business until it was nationalised by the Bolsheviks in 1918. The firm was famous for designing elaborate jewel-encrusted Fabergé eggs for the Russian Tsars, and for a range of other work of high quality and intricate detail. Agathon Carl Theodor Fabergé, born as Agathon Herman Friedrich Fabergé (7 February 1876 – St Petersburg 20 October 1951, Helsinki) was a Russian goldsmith and philatelist. He was the son of Peter Carl Fabergé ( House of Fabergé) and Augusta Julia Jacobs. He is not to be confused with his uncle and co-founder of the Fabergé jewelry firm, Agathon Fabergé. Early life After moving from Germany to Russia, Agathon Carl Theodor Fabergé or Agathon Karlovich was educated at the German Petrischule in St. Petersburg and in the commercial department of the Wiedemann gymnasium. SS Dongola
The SS ''Dongola'', launched 14 September 1905, was a steam-powered passenger liner of the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O), at various times used as a Royal Navy troop ship (HMT ''Dongola'') and hospital ship (HMHS ''Dongola''). Except during the First World War, the ship's main use was as a passenger liner on the routes from England through the Suez Canal to India and the Far East, and she was fast enough to carry mail. P&O sold the ship in June 1926 to be broken up for scrap.
