Alejandra Benítez
Alejandra Benítez Romero (born 7 July 1980) is a Venezuelan sabre fencer, who competed at the 2004, 2008, 2012 and the 2016 Summer Olympics. She was minister of sports in 2013 Sports career Benítez was born in a popular parish Antímano Caracas district. She began fencing accidentally at the age of fifteen years old on the suggestion good reference of one of her aunts, who knew coach Hildemaro Sánchez at the Central University of Venezuela. The national Venezuelan team trained in the same fencing hall, which inspired her to work hard to join them. Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías (; 28 July 1954 – 5 March 2013) was a Venezuelan politician who was president of Venezuela from 1999 until his death in 2013, except for a brief period in 2002. Sofiya Aleksandrovna Velikaya ( rus, Софья Александровна Великая, , ˈsofʲjə vʲɪˈlʲikəjə; born 8 June 1985) is a Russian sabre fencer. Velikaya is a former European champion (four-time individual, six-time team), world champion (two-time individual, six-time team), and two-time Olympic team champion. Lee Ra-Jin ( ko, 이 라진; born January 10, 1990, in Seoul) is a South Korean sabre fencer. She won a silver medal, as a member of the South Korean fencing team, in the same weapon at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China. Lee represented South Korea at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where she competed in the Fencing at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's sabre, women's individual sabre event, along with her teammate Kim Ji-Yeon, who eventually won the gold medal in the final. Bogna Jóźwiak (born April 15, 1983 in Poznań) is a Polish sabre fencer. Jozwiak represented Poland at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she competed in two sabre events. For her first event, the women's individual sabre, Jozwiak first defeated Venezuela's Alejandra Benitez in the preliminary round of thirty-two, before losing out her next match to U.S. fencer Mariel Zagunis, with a score of 13–15. The World Cadets and Juniors Fencing Championships are an annual international fencing competition held by the International Fencing Federation.
