AlcoSense
AlcoSense is both a company and brand name for alcohol breathalysers. The company was founded in the UK in 2007 and manufactures and distributes breathalysers for consumers and businesses. It is part of Now Group UK Ltd, which is owned and operated by racing driver and entrepreneur Hunter Abbott. AlcoSense has won multiple awards for its products and its efforts to improve road safety in the UK. Among these are Brake's Road Safety Awards, '' What Car?'' Hunter Abbott
Hunter Abbott is a British racing driver and business man (born in Windsor, 4 December 1980). He has raced sportscars, GT cars and Touring Cars. He was 2017 Blancpain GT Series Asia Champion and won the RAC Trophy after victory in the 2021 Silverstone 500 race. He is founder, owner and Managing Director of AlcoSense Laboratories, which designs, develops and manufactures alcohol breathalysers under the AlcoSense brand name. In 2017, Abbott was awarded a "Gold Star" on the Wall of Champions at the Mercedes-AMG factory in Affalterbach, Germany, as a result of winning the 2017 Blancpain GT Series Asia championship while driving a Mercedes-AMG GT GT3 race car for GruppeM Motorsport, an AMG Performance racing team. A breathalyzer or breathalyser (a portmanteau of ''breath'' and ''analyzer/analyser'') is a device for estimating blood alcohol content (BAC), or to detect viruses or diseases from a breath sample. The name is a genericized trademark of the Breathalyzer brand name of instruments developed by inventor Robert Frank Borkenstein in the 1950s. Origins A 1927 paper produced by Emil Bogen, who collected air in a football bladder and then tested this air for traces of alcohol, discovered that the alcohol content of 2 litres of expired air was a little greater than that of 1 cc of urine. Sir Stirling Craufurd Moss (17 September 1929 – 12 April 2020) was a British Formula One racing driver.
