Albury Thunder
The Albury Thunder are a rugby league team based in Albury, New South Wales. Founded in 2011, the Thunder play in the Group 9 Rugby League competition. History The Albury Thunder were originally founded as the Albury Blues in 1934, playing in the Group 13 Rugby League competition, in which they won 8 titles. Then in 1991, Group 13 folded, and they moved to Group 9. They then changed their name to the Albury Southern Rams, and Lavington Panthers, the latter name change occurring because of the Penrith Panthers NRL team buying the Rams (and the Lavington Blues AFL Club) and renaming them the 'Lavington Panthers RLFC'. The club then rebranded to the 'Albury Thunder' name, to be more inclusive to the whole city of Albury, not just the suburb of Lavington. Justin Carney
Justin Robert Carney (born 19 June 1988), also known by the nickname of "The Tank on the Flank", is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played on the or as a . He played for Canberra Raiders and the Sydney Roosters in Australia, and Castleford Tigers ( Heritage № 933), Salford Red Devils and Hull Kingston Rovers in the United Kingdom. Career Carney began his career with the Canberra Raiders, scoring two tries on his debut in a 34–16 win over the Brisbane Broncos in June 2008. He suffered a broken leg during a match against Gold Coast in July 2009, which ruled him out for the rest of the 2009 season and all the 2010 season. The Goulburn Murray Premiership is a rugby league competition on the border of Victoria and New South Wales. Initially the competition was established in 1998 as the Goulburn Murray Rugby League by the Country Rugby League The Country Rugby League of New South Wales (CRL), formed in 1934 and disbanded in 2019, was the governing body for the sport of rugby league football in areas of New South Wales outside the Sydney metropolitan area until it merged with NSW Rug ... and the Victorian Rugby League. Ben Jeffery (born 1 March 1987) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer. He primarily played on the . He previously played for the Wests Tigers and Gold Coast Titans in the National Rugby League, NRL. Playing career Jeffery made his first grade debut for reigning premiers the Wests Tigers against the Brisbane Broncos in round 21 of the 2006 NRL season at Suncorp Stadium scoring a try in a 20–6 victory.
