Albis
The Albis is a chain of hills in the Canton of Zürich, Switzerland, stretching for some 19 km from Sihlbrugg in the south to Waldegg near Zürich in the north. The chain forms, among others, the border between the Affoltern and Horgen districts. The best known point is Uetliberg at 870 m, overlooking the city of Zürich. Other points of interest include the Albishorn (909m.) the Bürglen (also known as Bürglenstutz, the highest peak, 914.6m.), the Schnabelburg, an observation tower, the Albis Pass, the small town of Buechenegg, and the extensive woods (known as the Sihlwald forest) on both sides of the river Sihl. The Sihl Valley borders the Albis chain on its entire east side. On the west side, the Albis is bordered by various streams (including the Reppisch) and one lake, the Türlersee. Albis Pass
Albis Pass (el. ) is a mountain pass in the Albis range in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland. It connects Langnau am Albis with the small village of Türlen on the Türlersee and, further on, Aeugst am Albis, Hausen am Albis, Mettmenstetten and Rifferswil. Other nearby passes across the same chain are Buechenegg to the north, and Schnabellücken, which is undeveloped except for a hiking trail, to the south. The eastern ramp and crest of the pass is in the municipality of Langnau, with the western ramp in Hausen. The pass is first mentioned in 1492, when the Zurich Council made a decision on road maintenance. In past times it was regarded as an important route between Zurich and central Switzerland. In 1713, Zurich military authorities are recorded as regarding transport over the Albis Pass as being simpler and cheaper than going via Birmensdorf or Horgen. Uetliberg

The mountain offers a panoramic view of the entire city of Zürich (to the northeast of its summit) and the Lake of Zurich (to the east), and lies on the boundary between the city of Zürich and the municipalities of Stallikon and Uitikon. The summit, known as Uto Kulm, is in Stallikon. At the summit, there is the Hotel Uto Kulm, together with two towers. One of these is a look-out tower (access costs , rebuilt 1990), whilst the other is the Uetliberg TV-tower (186 m, rebuilt 1990). The summit is easily accessible by train from Zürich. Felsenegg
Felsenegg (el. ) is a vantage point in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. Geography Felsenegg is located some to the southwest of the city of Zürich on the Albis chain, between the municipalities of Stallikon and Adliswil. The hilltop station of Luftseilbahn Adliswil-Felsenegg (LAF for short or commonly called ''Felseneggbahn'') aerial tramway is situated on Felsenegg. The Albis area is one of the most important recreation areas of greater Zürich. Sihl
The Sihl is a Swiss river that rises near the Druesberg mountain in the canton of Schwyz, and eventually flows into the Limmat in the centre of the city of Zürich. It has a length of , including the Sihlsee reservoir, through which the river flows. Water is abstracted from the river at the Sihlsee, leading to decreased downstream water flows and a consequent reduction in water quality. The river flows through, or along the border of, the cantons of Schwyz, Zürich and Zug. The main settlements of the Sihl Valley are all in the canton of Zürich, and include the towns of Langnau am Albis and Adliswil, along with a south-western segment of the city of Zürich. Sihlbrugg is a village and important transportation node between the cantons of Zug (ZG) and Zürich (ZH) in Switzerland. Geography Sihlbrugg is located in the Sihl Valley, at a point where the Sihl river is bridged by the road between Zug and Wädenswil.
