Alberto Ariel Martínez Piriz (30 July 1950 – 1 December 2009) was an Uruguayan professional association football, footballer who played in Austria for FK Austria Wien, Austria Vienna. Club career Martínez, who played as a midfielder, participated in the 1978 European Cup Winners' Cup Final for Austria Vienna. Martínez died on 1 December 2009 of heart failure, at the age of 59. Personal life Martínez held Austrian citizenship. His son is the footballer Sebastián Martínez (footballer, born 1977), Sebastián Martínez who obtained two international caps for Austria national football team, Austria. Alberto Nicolás Martínez (born 13 August 1990) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Deportivo Riestra. Career After youth stints with Atlas, Vélez Sarsfield and Ferro Carril Oeste, General Lamadrid were Martínez's first senior team. Five goals in seventy-three fixtures followed in Primera C Metropolitana across the 2008–09, 2009–10 and 2010–11 seasons, with the latter concluding with promotion to Primera B Metropolitana; though they'd be relegated after one season, as he appeared thirty-one times. In early 2013, Deportivo Español of the fourth tier completed the signing of Martínez. Four goals in fifty-seven fixtures occurred along with promotion. Alberto Martín Acosta Martínez (born 23 January 1977), more commonly known as Beto Acosta or simply Acosta, is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a striker for Penarol. Acosta has amassed nearly 500 career league appearances and more than 150 (league) goals from the positions of striker, attacking midfielder and wingback for a variety of different clubs throughout South America. Career Beto started his career at Defensor Sporting as a promising youth player, being fast-tracked into the first team and making his senior début for the club at the age of just 17. In two seasons, he scored 18 times in 30 league matches for Defensor. Alberto Martínez Díaz (born 27 October 1962), known as Berto (), is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Born in Lugo, Galicia, Berto's career was mainly associated to Real Oviedo for which he played 15 seasons, appearing in a team-best 512 official matches. He signed in 1984 from Asturias neighbours Caudal Deportivo in the lower leagues, and spent his first four years in the Segunda División, promoting to La Liga in 1988. Berto made his debut in the Spanish top flight on 3 September 1988, playing the full 90 minutes in a 1–0 home win against Real Sociedad and scoring one of his six league goals during the campaign. He only competed at that level until his departure in 1999, more often than not as a starter and captain, and added two appearances in the UEFA Cup with his main club, both in the 1991–92 edition.
