Alberto is the Romance version of the Latinized form (''Albertus'') of Germanic ''Albert''. It is used in Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. The diminutive forms are ''Albertito'' in Spain or ''Albertico'' in some parts of Latin America, Albertino in Italian as well as ''Tuco'' as a hypocorism. It derives from the name Adalberto which in turn derives from '' Athala'' (meaning noble) and ''Berth'' (meaning bright). Alberto Contador
Alberto Contador Velasco (; born 6 December 1982) is a Spanish former professional cyclist. He is one of the most successful riders of his era, winning the Tour de France twice ( 2007, 2009), the Giro d'Italia twice (2008, 2015), and the Vuelta a España three times (2008, 2012, 2014). He is one of only seven riders to have won all three Grand Tours of cycling, and one of only two riders to have won all three more than once. He has also won the Vélo d'Or a record 4 times. Alberto Ascari
Alberto Ascari (; 13 July 1918 – 26 May 1955) was an Italian racing driver and a two time Formula One World Champion. He was a multitalented racer who competed in motorcycle racing before switching to cars. Ascari won consecutive world titles in 1952 and 1953 for Scuderia Ferrari. He was the team's first World Champion and the last Italian to date to win the title. This was sandwiched by an appearance in the 1952 Indianapolis 500. Ascari also won the Mille Miglia in 1954. Ascari was noted for the careful precision and finely-judged accuracy that made him one of the safest drivers in a most dangerous era until his death. Alberto Aguilar Leiva (born 12 July 1984), known simply as Alberto, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Antequera CF as a defensive midfielder or central defender. He totalled 278 games and 18 goals in Segunda División, with Málaga B, Granada 74, Albacete, Córdoba and Ponferradina. Alberto Cifuentes Martínez (born 29 May 1979) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper, currently the manager of Cádiz CF B. Alberto José Callaspo Brito (, ; born April 19, 1983) is a Venezuelan professional baseball infielder who is a free agent. Alberto Bustani Adem (born in Mexico City, 1954) is a Mexican academic and entrepreneur of Lebanese descent ( Boustani). Elder son of Antonio Bustani and Alicia Adem. His grandparents emigrated from Lebanon at the beginning of the 20th century, in the second period of Lebanese immigration to Mexico, and dedicated to commerce in hardware and the workwear clothing industry. Alberto de Almeida Cavalcanti (February 6, 1897 – August 23, 1982) was a Brazilian-born film director and film producer, producer. He was often credited under the single name "Cavalcanti". Early life Cavalcanti was born in Rio de Janeiro, the son of a prominent mathematician. Alberto Jonathan Campbell-Staines (born 27 June 1993) is an Australian athlete with an intellectual disability who competes in the T20 classification. He won two bronze medals at the 9th INAS Athletics World Championships. Personal Campbell was born in Kingston, Jamaica on 27 June 1993. He was born prematurely and at three months was sent to the state-run orphanage in Kingston, where he suffered from neglect and malnutrition. At the age of five, he was transferred to the Salvation Army orphanage ''The Nest''. He has an intellectual impairment that has made learning difficult. Alberto Louis Baldonado (born February 1, 1993) is a Panamanian professional baseball pitcher for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2021.
