Alberta Provincial Highway No. 30, commonly referred to as Highway 30, was a long north–south highway in central Alberta, Canada that existed between the 1950s and mid-1980s, connecting the Yellowhead Highway ( Highway 16) with the Summer Village of Kapasiwin. Highway 30 passed through Wabamun Lake Provincial Park and was transferred to Parkland County in the mid-1990s; now referred to as ''Kapasiwin Road''. Kapasiwin
Kapasiwin () is a summer village in Alberta, Canada. It is located in the eastern shore of Wabamun Lake, south of Wabamun Lake Provincial Park and the Yellowhead Highway. The name derives from (), the Cree word for "campground". It was known as the Village of Wabamun Beach from 1913 to 1918. History Kapasiwin was originally incorporated on October 25, 1913 as the Village of Wabamun Beach. It was renamed to the Village Municipality of Kepasiwin on August 28, 1918. Recognizing that the village acted like a summer village, the Province of Alberta officially incorporated it as the Summer Village of Kapasiwin on September 1, 1993. Yellowhead Highway
The Yellowhead Highway (french: Route Yellowhead) is a major interprovincial highway in Western Canada that runs from Winnipeg to Graham Island off the coast of British Columbia via Saskatoon and Edmonton. It stretches across the four western Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba and is part of the Trans-Canada Highway system and the larger National Highway System, but should not be confused with the more southerly, originally-designated Trans-Canada Highway. The highway was officially opened in 1970. Beginning in 1990, the green and white Trans-Canada logo was used to designate the roadway. The highway is named for the Yellowhead Pass, the route chosen to cross the Canadian Rockies. The pass and the highway are named after a fur trader and explorer named Pierre Bostonais. Alberta Provincial Highway No. 16, commonly referred to as Highway 16, is a major east–west highway in central Alberta, Canada, connecting Jasper to Lloydminster via Edmonton. It forms a portion of the Yellowhead Highway, a major interprovincial route of the Trans-Canada Highway system that stretches from Masset, British Columbia, to Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, near Winnipeg. Highway 16 spans approximately from Alberta's border with British Columbia in the west to its border with Saskatchewan in the east.
