Albi
Albi (; oc, Albi ) is a commune in southern France. It is the prefecture of the Tarn department, on the river Tarn, 85 km northeast of Toulouse. Its inhabitants are called ''Albigensians'' (french: Albigeois, Albigeoise(s), oc, albigés -esa(s)). It is the seat of the Archbishop of Albi. The episcopal city, around the Cathedral Sainte-Cécile, was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 2010 for its unique architecture. Marcelle Tassencourt (28 May 1914 – 18 December 2001) was a French actress and theatre director. In 1960, she was appointed head of the Théâtre Montansier in Versailles. She was a drama teacher at the Versailles conservatory. Thierry Maulnier (born Jacques Talagrand; 1 October 1909, Alès – 9 January 1988, Marnes-la-Coquette) was a French journalist, essayist, dramatist, and literary critic. He was married to theatre director Marcelle Tassencourt. Early years A graduate of the École Normale Supérieure in the same class as Roger Vailland, Robert Brasillach, and Maurice Bardèche. While still a student, Maulnier became active in the integralist Action Française, and published in Charles Maurras' newspaper (''L'Action française''). He made a career in journalism and took part in the movement of the Non-conformists of the 1930s, inspired by the personalist generation of young intellectuals who shared some of the ideals of the Action Française, holding right-wing beliefs as an answer to a "''crisis of civilization''" and materialism. Jean Marie Lucien Pierre Anouilh (; 23 June 1910 – 3 October 1987) was a French dramatist whose career spanned five decades. Though his work ranged from high drama to absurdist farce, Anouilh is best known for his 1944 play ''Antigone'', an adaptation of Sophocles' classical drama, that was seen as an attack on Marshal Pétain's Vichy government. Jean Bernard-Luc, real name Lucien Boudousse, (Guatemala City, 8 February 1909 – Pontoise (Val-d'Oise), 18 May 1985) was a 20th-century French screenwriter and dialoguist. Biography Born in Guatemala, he arrived in France with his parents aged 3. He studied at Gerson, at the lycée Janson-de-Sailly, then in an École supérieure de commerce. In 1935, he participated to the writing of the film ''Michel Strogoff'', directed by Jacques de Baroncelli. During World War II, he joined the army. Taken prisoner, he managed to escape and enter the zone libre. He would then write many scenarios, including that of '' Les Cadets de l'océan'' by Jean Dréville in 1945. During the 1950s and 1960s, Jean-Luc Bernard wrote many films, some of which obtained a great success.
