Albert Meyer (politician)
Albert Meyer (13 March 1870 – 22 October 1953) was a Swiss politician, editor of Neue Zürcher Zeitung (1915-1930) and member of the Swiss Federal Council (1929–1938). He was elected to the Swiss Federal Council on 12 December 1929 and handed over office on 31 December 1938. He was affiliated to the Free Democratic Party. Albert Gregory Meyer
Albert Gregory Meyer (March 9, 1903 – April 9, 1965) was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as archbishop of the Archdiocese of Chicago in Illinois from 1958 until his death in 1965, and was appointed a cardinal in 1959. He previously served as archbishop of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee in Wisconsin from 1953 to 1958 and as bishop of the Diocese of Superior in Wisconsin from 1946 to 1953. Meyer was a strong advocate for racial justice and a firm supporter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He was also a voice for religious tolerance and for the reconciliation of the Catholic Church with the Jewish people. Albert Meyer (date of birth unknown) was a Swiss footballer who played as goalkeeper for FC Basel in the early 1900s. Meyer joined Basel's first team for their 1908–09 season. He played his first game with the team in the home game in the Landhof on 14 February 1909 as Basel were defeated 1–2 by La Chaux-de-Fonds. United States Naval Ship (USNS) is the prefix designation given to non- commissioned ships that are property of the United States Navy (USN). Definition United States Naval Ships are unarmed auxiliary support vessels owned by the U.S. Navy and operated in non-commissioned service by Military Sealift Command with a civilian crew. Some ships include a small military complement to carry out communication and special mission functions, or for force protection. In comparison, U.S. Navy ships commissioned into service have the designation " USS" and are armed, crewed by U.S. Navy personnel, and held in property by the United States Government.
