Albert Head, Metchosin
Albert Head is a neighbourhood in Metchosin, British Columbia, Canada, part of the Western Communities area of Greater Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. It is located around and named after the headland of Albert Head, which is Department of National Defence property. Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Esquimalt operates CFB Albert Head which contains the British Columbia Canadian Ranger Company of the 4th Canadian Ranger Patrol Group, CFB Esquimalt Range Control, the Naval Tactical Operations Group (MTOG) and previously the Regional Cadet Support Unit (Pacific) which hosted Cadet summer training at the camp. Albert Head Lagoon derives its name from the headland that was named by the Royal Navy for Prince Albert. Metchosin
The District of Metchosin is a municipality and community in Greater Victoria on the southern tip of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. It is a coastal community adjacent to the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Metchosin is part of the Western Communities and one of the 13 regional municipalities. Climate Metchosin has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen: ''Csb'') in parts caused by the rain shadow and to the east of the strait of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, but keeping some oceanic characteristics (''Cfb''). Albert, Prince Consort
Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (Franz August Karl Albert Emanuel; 26 August 1819 – 14 December 1861) was the consort of Queen Victoria from their marriage on 10 February 1840 until his death in 1861. Vice Admiral Sir Henry Kellett, (2 November 1806 – 1 March 1875) was a British naval officer and explorer. Career Born at Clonacody in Tipperary County, Ireland, on 2 November 1806, Kellett joined the Royal Navy in 1822. He spent three years in the West Indies and then served on survey vessels under William Fitzwilliam Owen in Africa, as second-in-command of under Edward Belcher in the East Indies, and as captain of in the First Opium War with China during which he was promoted to commander in 1841 and post-captain in 1842. Royal Roads is a roadstead or anchorage located in Strait of Juan de Fuca near the entrance to Esquimalt Harbour in Greater Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
