Alberico Albricci
Alberico Albricci (6 December 1864 – 2 April 1936) was an Italian general who served in World War I, leading the 2nd Army Corps in France during the Second Battle of the Marne. Born in Gallarate, the son of a noble family, he graduated in his twenties from Modena Military Academy; then he served in Italian East Africa in 1888-89. In 1910 he was named Honorary Aide de Camp of the king and Military Attaché at the Italian Embassy in Vienna. When Italy joined the Allies in World War I, he held his post on the General Staff, but he was soon named commander of the ''Basilicata Infantry Brigade''. Then he assumed his duty as chief of staff of the First Army. In 1917 he led the 5th Infantry Division in the Adamello massif. In late 1917, as commander of the 2nd Army Corps, he led the retreat of his troops from Gorizia to the bank of the Piave. In 1918 his corps was transferred to France. Alberico Archinto
Alberico Archinto (8 November 1698 – 30 September 1758) — was an Italian cardinal and papal diplomat. Biography Archinto entered the Roman Curia in 1724. Twelve years later he was ordained to the priesthood, and on 1 November 1739 received episcopal consecration as titular archbishop of Nicea. Then he served as papal nuncio in Grand Duchy of Tuscany (1739–1746) and in Poland (1746–1754). He returned to Rome in 1754 and assumed the posts of governor of Rome and vice-camerlengo of the Church. In 1756 Pope Benedict XIV created him Cardinal and named him Secretary of State and Vice-Chancellor of the Holy Roman Church. He participated in the Papal conclave, 1758; he was considered papabile and received several votes in the early ballots. Alberico Gentili (14 January 155219 June 1608) was an Italian-English jurist, a tutor of Queen Elizabeth I, and a standing advocate to the Spanish Embassy in London, who served as the Regius professor of civil law at the University of Oxford for 21 years. He is heralded as the founder of the science of international law alongside Francisco de Vitoria and Hugo Grotius, and thus known as the "Father of international law". Gentili has been the earliest writer on public international law. In 1587, he became the first non-English person to be a Regius Professor. He was also a patron of Occitan literature. Biography Alberico was born in the castle of San Zenone to Ezzelino II da Romano and Adelaide Alberti di Mangona. He was brother of Ezzelino III and Cunizza. He married twice. From his first marriage, to a noblewoman from Vicenza named Beatrice, he had one daughter, Adelaide, who married Rinaldo d'Este in 1235, and five sons: Ezzelino, killed in battle in 1243; Alberico; Romano; Ugolino; and Giovanni.
