Alarico Gattia
Alarico Gattia (9 December 1927 – 3 September 2022) was an Italian comic artist and illustrator. Life and career Born in Genoa, Gattia started his career in Milan as an illustrator for advertising and for several Mondadori publications, notably ''Epoca''. He made his debut as a comic artist in the late 1960s, collaborating with comics magazines such as '' Corriere dei Piccoli'', '' Il Giornalino'', and ''Comic Art'', and illustrating some '' Diabolik'' and ''Tex Willer'' stories. He illustrated some volumes of ' ("History of Italy in comics"), with texts of Enzo Biagi, and collaborated with the French publishing house Éditions Larousse, illustrating the volumes ''Histoire du Far West'' and ''A la découverte du monde''. Enzo Biagi
Enzo Biagi (; 9 August 1920 – 6 November 2007) was an Italian journalist, writer and former partisan. Life and career Biagi was born in Lizzano in Belvedere, and began his career as a journalist in Bologna. In 1952, he worked on the screenplay of the historical film '' Red Shirts''. In 1953, he became the editor-in-chief of '' Epoca'' magazine. Active in journalism for six decades and author of some eighty books, Biagi won numerous awards, among which were the 1979 Saint Vincent prize and the 1985 Ischia International Journalism Award. In 1987, he won the Premio Bancarella for his book ''Il boss è solo'', interviewing former Sicilian Mafia boss Tommaso Buscetta, who had turned pentito (state witness). Galerie Lambiek is a Dutch comic book store and art gallery in Amsterdam, founded on November 8, 1968 by Kees Kousemaker (, – Bussum, ), though since 2007, his son Boris Kousemaker is the current owner. From 1968 to 2015, it was located in the Kerkstraat, but in November 2015, the store moved to the Koningsstraat 27. As of 2018, Lambiek is the oldest comics store in Europe, and the oldest worldwide still in existence. The name "Lambiek" originated as a misspelling of the name of the comics character Lambik, from the popular Suske & Wiske comic book series created by Belgian artist Willy Vandersteen. Éditions Larousse is a French publishing house specialising in reference works such as dictionaries. It was founded by Pierre Larousse and its best-known work is the ''Petit Larousse''. Tex Willer is the main fictional character of the Italian comics series ''Tex'', created by writer Gian Luigi Bonelli and illustrator Aurelio Galleppini, and first published in Italy on 30 September 1948. ''Diabolik'' ( or ) is an Italian comic series created by sisters Angela and Luciana Giussani. One of the most popular series in the history of Italian comics, ''Diabolik'' was created in 1962 and consists of more than 900 volumes, and has led to the birth of the ''fumetti neri'' comic subgenre. The series is named after its protagonist, an anti-heroic thief, inspired by several previous pulp fiction characters from Italy and other countries.
