Alamid (rock Band)
Alamid is a Filipino rock band from Manila. History The two main members Gary Ignacio and Dexter Facelo met while attending the St. James Academy in Malabon. In 1993, they signed to Warner Bros. Records (Warner Music Philippines) and released three albums. On November 4, 1994 the band along with Razorback opened for the American Rock Band supergroup Mr. Big at their concert at the Folk Arts Theater. Their hit single "Your Love" was named Song of the Year at the NU107 Rock Awards in 1995. In 2006, it was covered by Erik Santos generating renewed interest in the band, although Ignacio and Facelo constituted the band at that time. They were managed by Dodong Viray until his demise. They had further success with the songs "Just Wasn't Brave Enough" and "Still Believe in Love" while the intro to "China Eyes" was used for ABS-CBN sitcom ''Palibhasa Lalake''. Malabon
Malabon, officially the City of Malabon ( fil, Lungsod ng Malabon), is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the National Capital Region of the Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 380,522 people. Located just north of the city of Manila, it is primarily a residential and industrial area, and is one of the most densely populated cities in the metropolis. A supergroup is a musical group whose members are successful as solo artists or as members of other successful groups. The term became popular in the late 1960s when members of already successful rock groups recorded albums together, after which they normally disband. Teeth (Filipino Band)
Teeth is a Filipino rock band formed in 1993. The band is currently composed of Glenn Jacinto on vocals, Jerome Velasco on guitars, Pedz Narvaja on bass, Mike Dizon on drums, and Dok Sergio on guitars (formerly on bass). Their music style is a mix of Alternative rock and grunge. The band is well known for the hits, "Laklak", "Prinsesa" and "Shooting Star". NU Rock Awards
The NU Rock Awards was an annual accolade presented from 1994 to 2010 by the Metro Manila-based radio station NU 107, known for prominent performances by the most influential pinoy rock artists of each year. History The first NU 107 Rock Awards was held at The Music Hall in Annapolis St., Greenhills on November 15, 1994. Originally meant to be a small gathering to give recognition to the rock community, it slowly became a much anticipated annual event. Francis Michael Durango Magalona (October 4, 1964 – March 6, 2009), also known by the moniker Francis M, was a Filipino rapper, singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, actor, and television personality. Born in Manila, He became a significant influence to artists in the Pinoy hip-hop scene and the local rap community. Beyond music, Magalona was also a television host on MTV Asia and Channel V Philippines and on the noontime variety television show ''Eat Bulaga!''.
