''For the film see Alamar (film)'' Alamar, also known as Alamar-Playa, is a district in east part of the city of La Habana in Cuba, part of the ''municipio'' of Habana del Este. This district is primarily prefabrication construction of Soviet-style architecture. Because of this, Cuban poet Juan Carlos Flores has described it as "The Heart of The Russian Barrio". The president of the ward is Margarita Basilia Araujo Suárez. Geography The ward (''consejo popular'') is located by the Atlantic coast and is surrounded by the wards of Alamar Este, Alturas de Alamar, Cojímar and Guiteras. Hip-hop scene Alamar is one of many barrios (housing projects) in Cuba that is home to a growing Hip-Hop scene. Habana del Este (Spanish for "East Havana"), also spelled ''La Habana del Este'', is one of the 15 municipalities or boroughs (''municipios'' in Spanish) forming the city of Havana, Cuba. A UBPC ('Unidad Básica de Producción Cooperativa'), or Basic Unit of Cooperative Production, is a type of agricultural cooperative that exists in Cuba. History of the UBPCs Cuban agriculture consists of state and private farms, both of which are managed by either the Ministry of Agriculture which manages livestock and various crops or the Ministry of Sugar which manages sugarcane (Deere). The agricultural sector now includes cooperatives: UBPCs, CPAs, CCSs, private, and state (Harnecker). The layout for cooperative agriculture was created after the 1959 Revolution with the Agrarian Reform Act which transferred 70% of farmland from vast colonial farms (Burchardt) to the state (Harnecker). The state farms were created with a Fordist model of immediate mass production via use of chemicals, massive productive units, and specialized units (Burchardt). Alturas De Alamar
Alturas (Spanish for "Heights"; Achumawi: ''Kasalektawi'') is a city and the county seat of Modoc County, California. Located in the Shasta Cascade region of Northern California, the city had a population of 2,715 at the 2020 census. Alturas is located at the confluence of the south and north forks of the Pit River, east of the center of Modoc County, at an elevation of . Cojímar is a district in Havana, Cuba, forming a ward (''consejo popular'') that is part of the Habana del Este municipality. Its population is 20,390.
