Al Taawoun Football Club ( ar, التعاون, lit=Cooperation) is a professional multi-sports club based in Buraidah, Saudi Arabia. The football team competes in the Saudi Professional League, the top tier of Saudi Football. The club play their home games at King Abdullah Sport City Stadium in Buraidah, sharing the stadium with city rivals Al-Raed with whom they contest the Qasim Derby with. History Al-Taawoun were founded in the year of 1956 under the name of "Al-Shabab" by their founder Saleh Al Wabili. Four years after the founding of the club, they were officially registered as a professional club in 1960. On the 25th of May 1990 Al-Taawoun reached the 1990 king cup final to face Al-Nasser but eventually lost 0-2. King Abdullah Sport City Stadium
The King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, previously known as the Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Stadium, is a football stadium in Buraidah, Saudi Arabia. It is used mainly for football and hosts the home matches of Al Taawon and Al-Raed of the Saudi Professional League. The stadium has a seating capacity of 25,000 spectators. Mrsool Park
King Saud University Stadium, also known as Mrsool Park due to sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In September 2020, Saudi Media Company obtained the management rights for operating the stadium. In October 2020, SMC signed a deal with Al Nassr FC for the Mrsool Park to become their home. History The construction work on the campus of King Saud University in Western Riyadh started in Spring 2011 and the opening took place in May 2015. The construction work was commissioned to Hashem Contracting Company, based on designs by Michael KC Cheah and his wife Steph, expanding their architectural portfolio of Saudi-based football stadia. Hashem Contracting Company delivered the stadium following specifications (and FIFA rules for international games) within the budget of 215 million riyals ($57m). 2020 AFC Champions League
The 2020 AFC Champions League was the 39th edition of Asia's premier club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the 18th under the current AFC Champions League title. Ulsan Hyundai won their second Champions League title by defeating Persepolis 2–1 in the final. Al-Faisaly FC ( ar, نادي الفيصلي) is a Saudi Arabian football team playing in the Saudi Professional League, based in Harmah City with a population of around 15,000 people. The club is named after King Faisal (r. 1964–75); he was crown prince at the time of the club's founding. History Al-Faisaly finished as the runner-up in the 2005–06 first division season, thus becoming the first club from the Sudair region to achieve promotion to the top flight but went straight back down after just one season. 2020–21 King Cup
The 2020–21 King Cup, or The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, was the 46th edition of the King Cup since its establishment in 1957. The tournament commenced on 16 December 2020 and concluded with the final on 27 May 2021. The number of teams was reduced from 64 to 16 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Saudi Arabia. The competition was limited to the 16 teams participating in the 2020–21 Saudi Professional League. Al-Hilal are the defending champions after defeating Al-Nassr 2–1 in the final. Al-Hilal were eliminated by Al-Fateh in the round of 16. Al-Faisaly won their first title after a 3–2 win over Al-Taawoun in the final on 27 May 2021. The 2020–21 Saudi Professional League was the 45th edition of the Saudi Professional League, the top Saudi professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1976. Mohammad Ibrahim Mohammad Al-Sahlawi ( ar, محمد ابراهيم محمد السهلاوي; born 10 January 1987) is a Saudi Arabian professional footballer who plays as a striker. Al Fayha FC () is a professional football club based in Al Majma'ah, that plays in the Saudi Professional League, the first tier of Saudi Football. It was founded in 1953. The King Cup (sometimes spelled King's), officially known as The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Cup ( ar, كأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين), is the Saudi Arabian football knockout cup competition, run by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. The cup was created in 1957 and was played until 1990. It was re-launched again in 2007 as ''King's Cup of Champions'', and was played by only the top 6 finishers of the Professional League plus the Crown Prince Cup and Federation Cup winners. 2019 Saudi Super Cup
The 2019 Saudi Super Cup was the 6th edition of the Saudi Super Cup, an annual football match played between the winners of the previous season's Saudi Pro League and King's Cup. It was played on 4 January 2020 by Al-Nassr, the winners of the 2018–19 Saudi Pro League, and Al-Taawoun, the winners of the 2019 King Cup. The match was held at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for the first time.
