Al Rio
Álvaro Araújo Lourenço do Rio (19 May 1962 – 31 January 2012) – known professionally as Al Rio – was a Brazilian comic book artist, best known for his " good girl" illustration work, particularly on the American comic book series ''Gen¹³'' and ''DV8'', published by Wildstorm Comics. Early life Al Rio was born in Fortaleza, Ceará, in northeastern Brazil. Career Rio began his professional art career in Rio de Janeiro in the early 1990s, illustrating books for a local English school. After then working as animation director for the same company, Rio became an animator for The Walt Disney Company, working on such properties as the syndicated '' ''Aladdin'''' animated series. ''Mystic'' is a comic book that was published by the Florida-based CrossGen Comics. Created by writer Ron Marz and artists Brandon Peterson and John Dell, it was one of five flagship titles in the company's Sigilverse shared universe. A knockout (abbreviated to KO or K.O.) is a fight-ending, winning criterion in several full-contact combat sports, such as boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, mixed martial arts, karate, some forms of taekwondo and other sports involving striking, as well as fighting-based video games. Purgatori is a fictional comic book character, created by writer Brian Pulido and artist Steven Hughes. A crimson-skinned, winged vampire goddess, she first appeared in ''Evil Ernie: Revenge'' #1 (October 1994), published by Chaos! Comics. She has since appeared in books published by Devil's Due Publishing (2005–2006). The intellectual property (IP) for future works was bought by Dynamite Entertainment in May 2010. Although Dynamite Entertainment President Nick Barrucci stated they will publish new series of both Purgatori and Lady Demon, nothing came into their project regarding her appearance until recently. ''X-Men Unlimited'' was the title of three comic book series published by Marvel Comics. The purpose of this title was to run stories that fit between the main X-Men comics. The stories included all characters (heroes and villains) from the X-titles, and the issues were collections of short stories. An anthology title, these stories focus less on the main continuity and more on peripheral events occurring with the X-Men characters. Avengelyne h-van'-jah-leenis a fictional Image Universe comic book character created by Rob Liefeld and Cathy Christian. Avengelyne is an angel who fights the forces of evil and often finds herself face-to-face with demons and monsters. Publication history The original character design for Avengelyne was based on the likeness of former ''Vampirella'' model Cathy Christian. ''Grimm Fairy Tales'' is a dark fantasy comic book series by Zenescope Entertainment that presents classic fairy tales, albeit with modern twists or expanded plots. It began publication in June 2005. Summary Each issue of ''Grimm Fairy Tales'' has two parts: a frame story and a fairy tale. The frame story revolves around Dr. Sela Mathers, a Professor of Literature with the supernatural ability to help people avoid bad life decisions by subjecting them to visions, in which they see themselves as the protagonists of allegorical fairy tales. As the series progresses, she struggles with the fact that several people ignore her lessons and ruin their lives anyway, and begins using her ability to dispense justice instead (see issue #15 "The Three Little Pigs").
