Al Gomhuria
''Al Gomhuria'' ( ar, الجمهورية; en, The Republic) is an influential state-owned Egyptian Arabic language daily newspaper. History and profile ''Al Gomhuria'' was established in 1954 following the Egyptian revolution and became the new regime's leading media outlet. The paper was published using the facilities of Wafd party's newspaper ''Al Misri'', which had been disestablished by the regime. Anwar Sadat became the editor of the daily. The publisher of the paper is Dar Al Tahrir which was founded following the 1952 revolution. However, ''Al Gomhuria'' could not completely achieved the goals set by Gamal Abdel Nasser. The circulation of the daily in 2000 was 400,000 copies. The 2005 circulation of the daily was 200,000 copies. Samir Ragab served as the chairman of the board and the editor in chief of the daily. Mahmoud Salem ( ar, محمود سالم) (1931–24 February 2013) was an Egyptian author known for writing mystery and children's books, including the Al Moghameron Al Khamsa adventure series. He has been referred to as the ''Godfather of Egyptian Pop Fiction''. Early life and education Salem was born in Alexandria in 1931 as a son of a naval officer. He was raised in different cities in Egypt. He first attended a military college, but left it due to his membership to a leftist group during the late 1940s. Ebrahim Nafae
Ebrahim Nafae ( ar, ابراهيم نافع) (12 January 1934 – 1 January 2018) was an Egyptian journalist. He was editor of the Egyptian newspaper ''Al-Ahram'' from 1979 to 2005 and chair of the General Union of Arab Journalists from 1996 to 2012. Biography Born in Suez, he received a bachelor's degree from Ain Shams University in 1956 before beginning his career as a Reuters reporter. He then became an editor at Egyptian Radio and an economy editor of the state-owned ''Al Gomhuria''. Nafae worked at ''Al-Ahram'' as head of the economy section and deputy editor-in-chief. He was editor-in-chief of ''Al-Ahram'' from 1979 to 2005, and he was later appointed CEO of the newspaper.
