Al Cueto
Alfonso Angel Cueto (born August 2, 1946) is a Cuban-born former professional basketball player. A 6'7" center, Cueto attended Coral Gables Senior High School in Coral Gables, Florida and the University of Tulsa after transferring from St. Gregory's University. He was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics in the tenth round of the 1969 NBA draft, but he never joined the team. Cueto did play two seasons in the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a member of the Miami Floridians and Memphis Pros. In basketball, a rebound, sometimes colloquially referred to as a board, is a statistic awarded to a player who retrieves the ball after a missed field goal or free throw. Rebounds in basketball are a routine part in the game; if a shot is successfully made possession of the ball will change, otherwise the rebound allows the defensive team to take possession. Rebounds are also given to a player who tips in a missed shot on his team's offensive end. A rebound can be grabbed by either an offensive player or a defensive player. 1969 NBA Draft
The 1969 NBA draft was the 23rd annual draft of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The draft was held on April 7 and May 7, 1969, before the 1969–70 season. In this draft, fourteen NBA teams took turns selecting amateur U.S. college basketball players. A player who had finished his four-year college eligibility was eligible for selection. If a player left college early, he would not be eligible for selection until his college class graduated. The first two picks in the draft belonged to the teams that finished last in each division, with the order determined by a coin flip.
