Al-Ahli Club of Manama ( ar, النادي الأهلي البحريني) is a Bahraini sports club based in the capital city of Manama. They used to play in the top division in Bahraini football but were relegated to the second division after finishing ninth in the 2011–12 First Division league. The club also fields players in other sports such as basketball, handball and volleyball. Their home stadium is Al Ahli Stadium, although like all other teams in Bahrain they mainly play on Bahrain National Stadium. History Al Ahli (formerly known as Al Nusoor), along with Muharraq Club, is considered to be the pillar of sports in Bahrain. Another club known as Al Tursana (which reached the Bahraini King's Cup in 1969) merged with Al Nusoor to form Al-Ahli Club. The matches between Al Ahli and Muharraq are known to draw the largest fan attendance in the Bahraini league and is considered to be the Bahrain derby. Mohamed Hubail (born 23 June 1981) is a Bahraini footballer who was sentenced to a two-year term of imprisonment by a special security court in Bahrain after taking part in pro-democratic reform protests in Bahrain in 2011. Career Hubail is a member of the Bahrain national football team with 61 international appearances, his first in 2004. He is a midfield player who has scored 5 goals at international level. At club level, Hubail currently plays for Al-Ahli Manama in Bahrain. He began his career with Al-Ahli and has also played for Al-Qadisiyah al-Khobar in Saudi Arabia, Al-Arabi Mansouriah in Kuwait and Qatar SC ad-Dōḥa and Al-Gharrafa ad-Dōḥa in Qatar. Antonio Davon Blakeney (born October 4, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Jiangsu Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Blaise Lelo Mbele (born 10 August 1987) is a Congolese former professional association football, footballer who played as a striker (association football), striker. Olivier Hakim Boumelaha (born 27 May 1981, in Mulhouse) is a French former football striker of Algerian descent. He last played for FC Gossau in the Swiss Challenge League. He is the older brother of Virgile Boumelaha and Sabri Boumelaha. Career Boumelaha began his career with FC Basel in 1998 but made only one appearance for the club before moving on to FC St. Gallen in 2000. Mehmed Alispahić (born 24 November 1987) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder. Club career Alispahić began his career with Iskra Bugojno in the First League of FBiH. He then joined Croatian 1. HNL club Šibenik in 2008. In May 2011, Alispahić agreed to a transfer to Dinamo Zagreb, where he stayed for a year and a half, before moving on a free transfer to Rijeka in late December 2012.
