Akeem Jordan (cricketer)
Akeem Jordan (born 18 October 1994) is a West Indian cricketer. He made his List A debut for Combined Campuses and Colleges in the 2018–19 Regional Super50 tournament on 4 October 2018. In the semi-final of the tournament, he took a five-wicket haul against Trinidad and Tobago to help Combined Campuses and Colleges progress to the final. He made his Twenty20 debut on 15 September 2019, for the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, in the 2019 Caribbean Premier League. The following month, he was named in the Combined Campuses' squad for the 2019–20 Regional Super50 tournament. He was the leading wicket-taker for Combined Campuses and Colleges in the tournament, with 16 dismissals in eight matches. He made his first-class debut on 18 May 2022, for Barbados in the 2021–22 West Indies Championship. Barbados is an island country in the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies, in the Caribbean region of the Americas, and the most easterly of the Caribbean Islands. One Day International
A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches. They are major matches and considered the highest standard of List A, limited-overs competition. The international one day game is a late-twentieth-century development. The West Indies men's cricket team toured South Africa in February and March 2023 to play two Test matches, three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. 2021–22 West Indies Championship
The 2021–22 West Indies Championship was the 55th edition of the Regional Four Day Competition, the domestic first-class cricket competition for the countries of the Cricket West Indies (CWI), which started on 9 February 2022. Six teams contested the tournament – Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Windward Islands. The series was played for the Headley–Weekes Trophy, named after George Headley and Sir Everton Weekes. Barbados were the defending champions. The last domestic first-class matches played in the West Indies took place in March 2020, during the 2019–20 West Indies Championship. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. The 2019–20 Regional Super50 was the 46th edition of the Regional Super50, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the Cricket West Indies (CWI). The tournament started on 6 November 2019, with the final taking place on 1 December 2019. The tournament featured the six regular teams of West Indian domestic cricket (Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Windward Islands), the Combined Campuses and Colleges team and the West Indies Emerging Team.
