Akbar Agha Sheykhulislamov
Akbar agha Sheykhulislamov ( az, Əkbər ağa Şeyxülislamov; 1891 – 1961) was an Azerbaijani public figure and politician. He served in the First cabinet of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic as its Minister of Agriculture and Labor. Early life and career Sheykhulislamov was born in Yerevan in 1891. Having graduated from a gymnasium in Erivan, he got enrolled Petersburg State Transport University in 1912. Upon his return to Azerbaijan, he worked as the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Transcaucasian Democratic Federative Republic. Sheykhulislamov was a member of Hummet party. He was one of the co-signers of Proclamation of Independence of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. The Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan ( az, Azərbaycan Respublikasının Kənd Təsərrüfatı Nazirliyi) is an Azerbaijani governmental agency within the Cabinet of Azerbaijan in charge of regulation of the economic activity in the agricultural sector of the country with a purpose of increasing the sector's production capacity. Agriculture is Azerbaijan's second most important natural resource playing a significant role in the country's economy. The ministry is headed by Inam Karimov. Transcaucasian Democratic Federative Republic
The Transcaucasian Democratic Federative Republic (TDFR; (), (). 22 April – 28 May 1918) was a short-lived state in the Caucasus that included most of the territory of the present-day Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, as well as parts of Russia and Turkey. The state lasted only for a month before Georgia declared independence, followed shortly after by Armenia and Azerbaijan. The region that formed the TDFR had been part of the Russian Empire. As the empire dissolved during the 1917 February Revolution and a provisional government took over, a similar body, called the Special Transcaucasian Committee (Ozakom), did the same in the Caucasus. After the October Revolution and rise of the Bolsheviks in Russia, the Transcaucasian Commissariat replaced the Ozakom.
