To Separate The Flesh From The Bones
To Separate the Flesh from the Bones were a Finnish deathgrind band. The band can be considered a side project of three members of Finland's metal and rock scenes: Pasi Koskinen (ex- Amorphis, ex-Shape of Despair, Ajattara), Mika Karppinen (ex- HIM) and Niclas Etelävuori (ex-Amorphis, ex- Moonspell). Biography The project began circa 2004 when three active members of Finland's metal scene decided to create a grindcore and brutal death side project. Pasi Koskinen and Niclas Etelävuori, ex-bandmates from Amorphis, joined Mika Karppinen (aka Gas) who is in the gothic rock band HIM. Though the band members are not anonymous, they want to keep their identities hidden by covering their faces in promo pictures and live concerts and by using pseudonyms instead of their real names: ''Herr Arschstein'' (Pasi Koskinen), ''Rot Wailer'' (Niclas Etelävuori) and ''Pus Sypope'' (Mika "Gas" Karppinen). The band released their first EP in 2004, '' For Those About to Rot'' (a play on AC/DC ...

Mannhai
Mannhai is a Finnish stoner rock band from Helsinki. The band was formed in late 1999 by bass player Olli-Pekka "Oppu" Laine and guitarist Ilkka "Ile" Laaksomaa. Soon they were accompanied by a young drummer, Mikko "Junior" Pietinen, and the following year by lead singer Jani "Joãnitor" Muurinen. In 2004, Muurinen left the band after three albums. In 2005 Mannhai persuaded Pasi Koskinen to replace Muurinen as a vocalist. Koskinen is best known for being the lead singer of Amorphis during the years 1996–2004. The band's name Mannhai comes from an Indian belief. In the countryside of the state of Uttar Pradesh in India, people in villages believed an evil disguised spirit called the ''Mannhai'' snatched their children at nightfall. History Olli-Pekka Laine, Ilkka Laaksomaa and Mikko Pietinen recorded three instrumental songs to begin with. With this demo tape, they convinced their old friend Jani Muurinen to become their singer. In late 2000 another three-song demo tape was ...

Shape Of Despair
Shape of Despair is a funeral doom metal band from Finland. History The band was founded in 1995 as ''Raven'' by Jarno Salomaa (guitars, later also keyboards), Tomi Ullgrén (bass, later also guitars) and Toni "Otso" Mäensivu (drums, later also vocals) as a faster, instrumental black metal influenced band following the footsteps of their contemporaries like Strid, Burzum, Darkthrone and Unholy. The trio soon realized that the music they played was not as good as they would have wanted, lacking the atmosphere and emotion of the bands that influenced them. During the summer of 1995 Raven recorded their rehearsals with a simple cassette recorder, capturing all the songs that later became the ''Alone In The Mist'' demo, for the first time on tape. After listening to the rehearsal tape and realizing they actually had something in their hands they could stand behind, Raven wanted to record the tracks in a proper studio. It took the band three years to do it. Raven entered Arkki-studio ...
