Aisha Praught-Leer
Aisha Praught-Leer (born 14 December 1989 in Moline, Illinois) is a middle-distance runner from Illinois competing for Jamaica. She attended Woodrow Wilson Middle School and Moline High School. Praught competed in Athletics at the 2016 Summer Olympics after running the 1500 meters and steeplechase standards in 2015. Praught competed in the Women's 3000 metres steeplechase event at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China, but was disqualified. She was the gold medalist in the steeplechase at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Biography Although raised by two white American parents, Aisha's biological father is a Jamaican reggae musician with whom her mother had a relationship for several years. Athletics at the 2016 Summer Olympics were held during the last 10 days of the games, from 12 to 21 August 2016, at the Olympic Stadium. Moline High School is a public four-year high school located in Moline, Illinois, a city in Rock Island County, in the Midwest area of the United States. The school is the only public high school in the city of Moline, and is part of Moline-Coal Valley School District #40. Building history After the founding of the Moline Board of Education, Moline High School took the form of a two-room schoolhouse. It was replaced with Central/Washington school, which housed grades 1-13, after its building completion in 1873. This, of course, was notably larger. Still getting progressively more spacious, a building nicknamed "the Castle" by passing travelers on the Mississippi became the new Moline High School in 1894. The women's 1500 metres competition of the athletics events at the 2019 Pan American Games took place the 9 August at the 2019 Pan American Games Athletics Stadium. The defending Pan American Games champion is Muriel Coneo from Colombia. Aisha Praught-Leer moved into marking position and that is the way the lead group held for the next lap and a half. Summary Alexa Efraimson took the lead from the gun into the first turn, then 200 meters into the race, defending champion Muriel Coneo moved into the lead. On the penultimate backstretch, Praught moved past Coneo. Nikki Hiltz used that cue to move from the back of the pack up to Efraimson's back, immediately behind Praught. As they approached the bell, then around the turn, Hiltz moved around Efraimson and into a marking position on Praught's shoulder.
