Aisha (TV Series)
''Aisha'' is a Maldivian romantic drama television series developed for Television Maldives by Abdul Faththaah. The series stars Jamsheedha Ahmed, Ibrahim Hilmy, Arifa Ibrahim, Niuma Mohamed and Aminath Rasheedha in pivotal roles. Premise Aisha is forced to drop out from school and start working at a family-friend's guest house to earn an income needed to recover from their financial debt. She continues a strenuous life with work while dealing with her abusive mother, Ameena (Arifa Ibrahim). While she is working at Azima's (Aminath Rasheedha) guest-house, Aisha meets Shamaal (Ibrahim Hilmy) an adoptive child of Azima whom she likes instantly. Azima approves their relationship though the couple decide not to share the news with Ameena considering the family crisis she deals with. Mariyam Nisha
Mariyam Nisha (born 19 May 1979) is a Maldivian former actress. Early life Nisha was born on 19 May 1979 in Dh. Rinbudhoo. She recalled her childhood days as a "disturbing chapter" of life where she had to refrain from enjoying with friends due to a skin problem. At the age of twelve, she got married and a year later, they were blessed with their first child. Fathimath Rauf
Fathimath Rauf (7 October 1959) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Fathimath Rauf was born and raised in the "Masodi family" where several local artists emerged as prominent singers. At the age of thirteen, as insisted by her father, Rauf performed a song on the stage which caught the attention of the audience. Music directors realized her potential and roped in to sing for their projects which enabled her to "rise to fame" during her career beginning. While working at Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu, she joined the local band "Olympians" and became a prominent face in their stage shows. Mukhthar Adam
Umar Zahir (30 May 1971) is a Maldivian singer. Career Born in GA. Dhaandhoo, Adam initiated his career as a musician by joining a local band to take part in some of the occasional stage shows held in his island and atoll. He rose to prominence in the year 1999, where he released the studio albums ''Husreethi'' and ''Nadhuru'' which all went to become a huge success. This led to Mukhthar receiving several offers from music directors and his voice was heard in several albums released during the year 2000 to 2006. Hussain Sobah
Hussain Sobah (11 November 1972) is a Maldivian film actor, music composer and playback singer. Career In 1995, Sobah featured in Mohamed Shiyaz's '' Dhushman'' alongside Mariyam Nisha, Aminath Rasheedha and Hamid Ali in pivotal roles. In the film, he plays the character Riyaz, an underprivileged young man who loses his girlfriend over social discrimination. Chilhiya Moosa Manik
Moosa Manik commonly known as Chilhiya Moosa Manik (30 January 1940 – 24 August 2021) was a Maldivian film actor and writer. Early life In 1977, while studying at Majeediyya School, Manik participated in the theatre play performed to celebrate the Golden jubilee of Majeediyya School. He then joined several other theatre performances as a hobby though his first priority lies in sketching and drawing, followed by writing. His most notable performance as a theatre artist includes his role as Viyazor; the administrative chief of the Portuguese kingdom who invaded and ruled over Maldives. His work as a theatre performer was appreciated by the government of Maldives and he was bestowed with the National Award of Recognition in 1983. Hassan Ali Manik professionally known as Koyya Hassan Manik (25 April 1953 – 20 February 2021) was a Maldivian film actor and producer. Career 1989–2008: Early releases and first lead role with ''Ajaaib'' In 1989, Najuma offered him to feature in ''Hama Mihaaru'', one of the programs aired in the Dhivehi Rajjeyge Adu, where he took part in a total of eighteen episodes in a span of three years. Ahmed Saeed is a Maldivian film actor and director. Career 1997–2010: Debut and early releases On 13 June 1997, Saeed made his screen debut in a video single alongside Hassan Afeef and Mariyam Nisha. Afterwards, he played a role in Yoosuf Rafeeu's ''Dhiriulhumakee Mieebaa?''. Mariyam Haleem is a Maldivian actress. Ali Shameel is a Maldivian film actor and director. Career In 1986, Shameel took part in a stage-play titled CDS-6, alongside Kashima Shakir, Mohamed Rasheed and Chilhiya Moosa Manik which was appreciated among the audience and he continues to feature in several other stage dramas. Abdul Faththaah Abdul Gayyoom (born 6 December 1971), commonly known as Abdul Faththaah is a Maldivian film director, producer, editor, screenwriter and choreographer. Waleedha Waleed is a Maldivian film actress, choreographer, director, seamstress and politician. Career In 1989, at the age of fourteen, Waleedha Waleed made her screen debut with a video single directed by Musthafa Hussain. She went on to feature in several other video songs and films. Waleed had most recognition for her songs included in the ''Vasmeeru'' album, which was produced by ''Television Maldives''. In an interview with ''Avas'', Waleed mentioned; "What made me go a long way in my career is the belief that people cheer me as a good dancer though I am not trained in any dance style".
