An airport is an aerodrome with extended facilities, mostly for commercial air transport. Donegal Airport
Donegal Airport ( ga, Aerfort Dhún na nGall) is located south-west of Bunbeg in Carrickfinn, a townland in The Rosses, a district in north-west County Donegal, Ireland. The airport is on the county's north-west coast. about a 15-minute drive from Dungloe and Gweedore and 45 minutes from Letterkenny. It is popularly known within County Donegal as Carrickfinn Airport. Galway Airport
Galway Airport ( gle, Aerphort na Gaillimhe), , is located at Carnmore, east of Galway City, County Galway, Ireland and is managed by ''Corrib Airport Limited''. It has not serviced any scheduled passenger traffic since 31 October 2011, when Aer Arann ceased commercial operations at the airport. At 1289 m (4230 ft), the runway is too short to handle most jet airliners and so scheduled services were restricted to turboprop aircraft or small executive jets. In November 2013, it was announced that the airport's aviation licence would cease, closing the airport. In January 2015, it was announced that the airport would reopen for private and commercial flights, but as of December 2015 the airport was "closed for commercial traffic until further notice". Connacht ( ; ga, Connachta or ), is one of the provinces of Ireland, in the west of Ireland. Until the ninth century it consisted of several independent major Gaelic kingdoms (Uí Fiachrach, Uí Briúin, Uí Maine, Conmhaícne, and Delbhna). Carnmore
Carnmore () is an electoral area located at the southern end of the parish of Claregalway, approximately east of Galway city in County Galway, Ireland. Carnmore is in a Gaeltacht area, although the majority of residents use English as their first language. Incorporating the townlands of Carnmore, Carnmore West and Carnmore East, the area is represented in hurling competitions by Carnmore GAA. Galway Airport is also nearby. History Archaeological sites in the area include a souterrain which had two or three chambers and a creep entrance to each chamber which were approximately high. There is also a ''lisheen'', a small fort, in Carnmore where some local children (and adults) were buried. There are also several Dolmen-style (portal tomb) burial sites in the area. Leixlip ( or ; , IPA: lʲeːmʲənˠˈwɾˠad̪ˠaːnʲ is a town in north-east County Kildare, Ireland. Its location on the confluence of the River Liffey and the Rye Water has marked it as a frontier town historically: on the border between the ancient kingdoms of Leinster and Brega, as an outpost of The Pale, and on Kildare's border with County Dublin.
