Airly Colliery
Airly is an Australian membership-based private travel provider that was founded in December 2015. Airly's 'JetShare' service allows for booking of private jet flights. Business model In order to reduce on-ground delays, Airly operates out of less congested airports. The JetShare app allows for flight and seat availability to be accessed at a varying amount of time prior to the flight, depending on the operator. Airly's original business model was based on that of Surf Air (an American company based in California), however with some modifications. It was meant to target frequent fliers and corporate travelers, who could buy an all-you-can-fly subscription for an initial joining cost of $1000 and a payment of $2550 per month for the cheapest membership option. In economics, a virtual airline is an airline that has outsourced as many possible operational and business functions as it can, but still maintains effective control of its core business. Such an airline focuses on operating a network of air services, and outsourcing non-core activities to other organizations. Contracting out services within the aviation industry has reportedly become so common that many carriers could be classed as having features of a virtual airline, although it is arguable whether any current carriers meet a strict definition of the term. The term is often used to describe travel companies and ticket agencies that market themselves as airlines, but do not possess an air operator's certificate and contract with one or more certificated operators to fly and maintain aircraft, often under an air charter arrangement. Surf Air is a Los Angeles–based aviation marketplace that offers members access to private charter flights for a fixed monthly fee. Service areas As of March 2019, the company serves five California airports: Hawthorne (HHR), Oakland (OAK), San Carlos (SQL), Santa Barbara (SBA), and Truckee (TRK). In June 2017, Surf Air expanded service into Texas with its acquisition of RISE, a Texas-based air travel provider. They service flights to and from Austin Bergstrom, San Antonio International, Dallas Love Field, Houston Hobby, and David Wayne Hooks in Northwest Houston.
